Some way, some how, this is all the fault of some family in Bethesda with kids in a private.

This is such a stupid straw man. Is the country’s ongoing systemic racism a factor in the cycle of reckless violence that plagues the city? Yes! That does not mean anyone is blaming your family. Try to behave like a respectable adult.

You do realize that all the shooters were black, right?

It's systemic racism that makes black people shoot black people?

Of course. How is the even a question.

Yes, anyone with a brain realizes this. Systemic racism provides disproportionate access to quality education, quality housing, and jobs to black people via redlining, lending discrimination, employment discrimination, disproportionate policing and harsher sentences, and other means. When denied education, housing, and jobs, black people disproportionately turn to crime to give them what society denies them which leads to higher rates of violence.

It doesn't which is why the media wont report on it just like all the violence in Chicago. These black lives dont matter to the upper white middle class and their virtue signaling.

I’m in not in BLM but how does it fit into YOUR agenda? What do you suggest to reduce crime and violence in black communities? Why don’t Republicans help solve problems?

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Republican care about improving the lives of poor black Americans.

I'm not a republican just pointing out that we dont see Chicago or any inner city crime for that matter on the nightly news because it doesnt fit the narrative for people to be fake outraged. I can at least call a spade a spade. And I would argue that inner city crime is the problem everyone should be trying to solve, not the small % of police brutality.

Not a Trump fan, but until Covid the economy was benefitting poor black Americans with jobs.

Please tell the class how 3 or 4 guys shooting randomly into a crowd is giving those young black men something that society has denied them. We’ll wait on you.

The Republican that currently occupies the Whitehouse achieved the highest level of black employment in history, until we voluntarily destroyed our economy.

We live in city that has been run by the Democratic party for fifty plus years. Our city has been flush with a tax base for years (thank you Tony Williams!) And gets a ton of freebie/subsidies from the Feds. We have an overwhelming liberal city council and policies. 50+ years to "crack" or at least put a dent in systemic racism/access/equity in DC, no? Isnt that way we have Homestead tax breaks, college matching, summer jobs etc??

Black Lives Matter is responsible for addressing killing by police. There are plenty of local and national community organizations that are addressing crime in black neighborhoods. You nor the media gives a shit about them though.

And centering trans people

And undocumented

And disrupting the Western prescibed nuclear family

They have more than one area of concern. Some of us know because we actually went to their official website

?What are you talking about? Chicago crime spree and shootings are on CNN nightly and during the day. FOX new report Chicago crime with glee. The. pundits on FOX have orgasms as they report daily on what's happening negatively in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, etc. So yeah, they report it.

Why do you frame reporting on looting as a right wing orgasm? The Post has a front page story today on a counter-protest by black business owners in Chicago. This looting is creating long-term damage for POC and left-leaning cities across America. It's not a right wing issue, it's a humanitarian issue for the residents of these cities.

Where were the police?

Oh right, the ones that weren't doing nothing to stop the violence were there partying.

I thought that's what people want from police these days?

I don't know where anyone would have gotten that impression. Let me guess though: you read a headline somewhere that said BLM wants to "defund the police" and instead of actually reading the article, where you would have learned that "defund the police" means to reallocate some funding from police to community improvement, mental health and social services, and other proven ways to reduce crime and free police from providing those services so that they can focus on responding to situations where force is necessary, in your profound ignorance interpreted that as "no police at all" and came here to smugly show how little you know?

Why can’t people say “reform” if that is a what is meant? Why assign new meanings to words and then get outraged by people who don’t understand?

If I headline an article “Five die in car crash” should I be confused that people don’t know that I really meant “Victims had to be resuscitated and are expected to recover?”

They can’t use the right words but everyone else is dumb?

Okay.
