Sorry your party had to end, troll. |
| Blacks who graduate from Harvard don’t have the same life outcome as others. So not sure what is the point of the affirmative action. |
If you don't see it, it is because you don't want to. |
Studies have shown Black H graduates’ life outcome is only as good as whites who graduate from a mediocre state universities. But whatever. Keep on pushing for your agenda. As H uses “holistic” evaluation, the wider community, too, applies “holistic” evaluation in evaluating Harvard URMs. |
can you post a link to that? |

the median student isn't going to be that much different between hyp, wharton, columbia.....but H routinely wins cross admit battles - so H could boost their black composition just by admitting all black students who get into Y, P, Wharton, and Columbia.
I don't how Harvard can maintain this artificial cap on black students - it's as if they don't want too many and want to share with other ivies. |
https://www.google.com/amp/s/qz.com/357445/black-harvard-graduates-have-the-same-shot-at-a-job-call-back-as-white-state-college-grads/amp/ I believe Harvard also has complained loudly that their black graduates don’t do as well. I guess H was expecting everyone to be awe struck by their sheepskin. |
Because of racism. "Racism is so pervasive in the US job market that even black Americans with Harvard degrees are at a disadvantage, according a 2014 study in the journal Social Forces (highlighted in Inside Higher Ed)." |

Why? I don't believe that logically follows from what I said at all. In fact my statement assumed all racial groups are equivalent, on average. |
So, what is your plan of action? Affirmative action from cradle to grave? Whatever you want, just implement. Easy peazy. Problem solved. |

These type of post happen every year as parents realize their Asian or white child is not likely to go to a top college. It’s actually really sad and especially when we have so much racial hate in the news everyday. Why don’t you just chant white power or Asians are smarter. The standards for elite colleges have been the same for years. No matter the race if your child does not meet the well know standard you and your child are unprepared and did not do your homework. It’s not rocket science.
With regards to black outcomes at elite schools and Harvard, it’s not the same as legacy rich whites but it’s not worse than poor first gen whites. In any event, although you may say it’s bad, it’s better than the outcomes for black students from state U and non elite schools. If you want to deny that people still are racist and believe in white power so be it. But racism is a serious barrier. Also most of those studies are not looking at post 1980s grads which are doing very well. Keep on with your hate hopefully your way of thinking will die soon. |
All that the study is saying is that as Harvard practices “holistic” evaluation, so does the rest of the society in evaluating Harvard URMs. As the other thread says, don’t just say BLM - live it. Affirmative action for life. |
I guess you much prefer reparations! That way the black graduates would have more family wealth and connections and maybe their outcomes would be the same. Seriously Angry guy with the dumb kid I am so sorry you don’t want to make room for new people to share America’s wealth. I guess you think you are self made and got no preference. There are a lot of recent black Alum of elite schools that are doing well and not reliant on racist like you for approval or jobs. As I mentioned above the studies are looking primarily at pre 1980s classes which do not represent current/ recent minority classes. But be as angry as you like. America is changing and you are going to be left behind .... like Trump. |
Not sure what’s triggering you. I am on your side. All the Karens of this world will die out, as they should. As the demographics change as you predict, reparations is just a matter of time. It’s coming, soon or later. |
