No this is on you. Based on what she told you the only correct thing to say is "thanks for letting me know. I hope everyone is okay" and then either say "why don't you take the day off" or "feel free to come by whenever you can get here" depending on your needs for the day.

You’re being dramatic. Of course I appreciate her, she has been with us for 2 years and the kids love her. She is here everyday after school normally but since the covid stuff, she has been with us for most of the day (if I have meetings) instead of just 4 hrs in the evening. I certainly trust her or I wouldn’t have her caring for my kids. It’s just in this instance, I felt set up.

Is it out of character for her to be late? I could maybe understand if she’s typically late and gives excuses. But if she’s normally on time then you should have been more understanding even if it was just traffic causing her to be late.

OP you’re crazy. What do you think she would gain out of purposely misleading you? Don’t you think it would go the other way around? Mislead you into thinking this was a big deal vs her mom was sitting in traffic. Must be hard thinking the worst of everyone
