Wisconsin Battleground state will result in deaths

Using executive powers, Evers unilaterally suspended in-person voting until June 9. Mail-in ballots will be due by that date. Current local incumbents - some of which would of had to leave office by mid April - are having their terms extended through June.

State GOP tinkered with the dates to try to ensure the re-election of a conservative judge on the state Supreme Court. Total anarchy.

Finally. And hopefully the decision is late enough that the GOP cannot appeal it again before polls were to open.

Crazy that the governor has to go to such lengths to protect the population.

I'm very happy he called their bluff.

Democrat executives need to start harnessing their power without apology. Push their powers to the limit if necessary to reduce the harm inflicted on citizens and to ensure a fair vote.

Any Democrat governor would be crazy right now to trust local GOP politicians to "do the right thing."

And give the Republican a seat in the Supreme Court to continue to eff over Wisconsinites for years! Why is this election now and not in November, anyway?

It’s a primary election...

I live in Wisconsin and voted by mail weeks ago as did most people I know. However, I did so fully believing the election would be postponed but I voted absentee “just in case”..can’t believe they are doing this. Definitely voter suppression by the Republicans. Actually even worse than voter suppression; they are allowing many voters to likely get infected and some to die just to exercise their right to vote.

The election tomorrow for the Supreme Court seat is the General. The primary was in February.

I’m sorry. I meant the presidential primary. The election tomorrow (just postponed til June) in Wisconsin is the presidential preference primary.

Yes, everyone knows that the presidential primary election was supposed to be tomorrow. What most people don’t know is that the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat general election was supposed to be tomorrow. THAT is what the Wisconsin and national GOP were in enough of a tizzy over to go to the actual Supreme Court. They don’t give a crap about the presidential primary.

Ok I realize the Supreme Court general election is tomorrow too and I realize that is what has the GOP trying to proceed w the election. I was never disputing that. I was just clarifying why I called it a primary in my first post.

No need to be nasty.

The Democrats will be remembered in November as the party that tried to save lives. This is what humanity is supposed to be about. Now we see why Wisconsin it truly a battleground state. Elected Obama twice and then Trump. Can’t both parties come together and just save as many lives as possible? If this voting went on tomorrow it could have been devastating to Milwaukee.

Uh, why do you think the Wisconsin GOP is opposed to that? That was the intended outcome of pushing the vote tomorrow by Republicans.

Seriously, think about it. From the beginning of time, America was only ever divided on this one sole civil matter. Some people (parties change, character doesn’t) have always tolerated oppression, cheating, slavery, stealing land, killing others - for their survival, and theirs alone. Right now the GOP is leading the charge of the immoral. Its common practice. People that ran gladiator fights back in THG e day for money would have been in the party of the 2020 republican. savage.

+100%. PP, this is what voter oppression looks like. And it’s been a crime going on by the GOP for a long time, began with slavery and women not having a vote, then land ownership, etc. Same shit, different toilet. It is all about consolidating power by abusing the system and not letting a fair environment exist. They know they would be forced into the darkness because the greater good is always... greater and good. And not the lesser evil.

We need a voter suppression #truth campaign, like the commercials that went out about smoking, and using condoms on MTV back in the day. We need that now for ALL voters to see.

DP. The first poster’s point was that Democrats were trying to save lives by postponing the election whereas republicans were in favor of going forward w the election and endangering voters. I think you’re both thinking the same thing...
