“Full time mom”

I’ve literally never heard someone use that expression but I have seen several insecure women misinterpret the acronym FTM to mean full time mom and then go on rants in comment sections that made them look stupid. Is that what you’re doing here, OP?

I don't think it's a dig, but in my experience using it to describe oneself is a strong signal that the speaker is highly likely to try to sell me on her MLM.

People say I work full time. That doesn't mean they work 24 hours a day. It is all just expressions. Everyone knows what it means. It someone chooses to be offended by the word full time mom, that is their problem. People know what it means.

Yep, I say I work full-time. It’s an expression and doesn’t mean I think SAH parents aren’t working. I’d give the same courtesy to a SAHM who said she was a full-time mom.

I’m sure some people mean it as a dig and some people who have been judged negatively for not having a job are using it as a somewhat defensive euphemism and some people just think it sounds cute and don’t really think that hard about it. I don’t use it myself (I’m a SAHM) because I take it sort of literally and feel like it denigrates working parents (DH is still their dad when he’s at work!), but I also think it’s worth in general trying not to parse other people’s language too closely. There doesn’t seem to be a pithy formulation for any of these things that will satisfy everyone, so unless there’s other evidence that a SAHM is trying to judge you for having a job or a WOHM/WAHM is trying to judge me for not having one, it’s best to just assume someone’s self description doesn’t have anything to do with anyone but themselves.

Well, I sometimes leave the house/home so it feels disingenuous to call myself a SAH and/or housewife. I’m just momming hard all day long, everywhere I go. Call me whatever the heck you want. Yep. I personally hate the term stay at home mom. I am never home! Whatever. This is silly to be offended about.

Full-time mom is maybe not a dig, but implicates that working moms are part-time moms. So maybe not mean, but thoughtless statement and a little full of themselves.
