Anyone know anything about Alexandria Futsal

Anonymous
My kids play elsewhere, but always do Futsal with Alexandria. This will be their 5th year. I find it incredibly well-organized, great venues/facilities and the Club really invests in their Futsal program. It isn't an after-thought like many other Clubs.

For the hater that doesnt care to read or be informed this attachment will help you. Note RED is their Futsal ID top team and pays more, trains more and so on. Note they are the only ones that get the opportunity to go to Regionals/Nationals and so on. By the way, the cost of which is already factored into the fee. The lower level teams dont train as often and dont get the chance to go to a tournament that they will get crushed in hence their fee is reduced be it girls team or boys.

The number of tournaments are the same between Girls Red and Boys Red. Only the level is different and that has been explained as the quality of Alexandria’s talent depth on the boys side versus girls side.

The girls Red team is getting the same number of training sessions and the same number of events.

Your link is broken just like your argument

Happy to copy paste it in here for you since you didnt see the same link that some other person posted. Would you like me to do that for you?
As for my statement being "broken" what in there did you find to be wrong ?

Happy to clarify for you but I'm guessing you and your already formed opinion will not point out anything as what I state is factual and from experience. Yours is simply your perception and misinformed hatred for a club soccer program, pathetic sounding as that is

Again, the inquiry is from a U16 parent. There are only red ID teams at that level, and the girls and boys play identical tournaments, have identical amounts of training, and cost the same. What on earth is the hater talking about, and why?

And I provided a link to each team. Boys Red are attending 3 events and girls Red are also attending 3 events.

I have a high level girl player and wanted to put her with Alexandria because I heard good things about it. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything to offer her. She tried it but the girls were nowhere near her level and Alexandria didn't have a way to develop her where she was at. The boys' side though is solid.

When you say they didnt have anything near her level I can tell you that one of the girls teams has two players that currently play on the USYF National Team. What age group is the girl you are referring to? If she is close to the age group of these girls then Id be be very surprised she can hold her own with the two of them. I dont mean that in the wrong way. Just pointing out they have very high level players that play futsal beyond club play and at the highest level for their age. Furthermore they have a Womens Pro team that started this year. If she is in fact that good she should be looking at that as well

I don't want to say what age group, as I'm not trying to insult anyone or the girls she was placed with. They were very nice as people. The girls they had in her age group were not the same level of player nor even close. I'm not saying she's the best of the best. She was just way ahead of that particular team. There were no Futsal national team players on her team. They didn't have the pro option at that time, so I can't speak to that. And I tried to find options with them, but it didn't work out, including all the options anyone on here might think of to work it out. I think the director wanted to be flexible and work with us, but the coaches involved did not. We ended up finding another option that did have high level girls her age.

Understood. My experience is the talent pool is varied by age group for sure. Hope you were able to find a good program for her to play. Its a great sport that is fun to watch and they love to play.

True. My biggest complaint was the coach wanted to keep her with that group because she made it more competitive, gave them a better chance at the tournament. Which is fine. I didn't even mind her being with them some as a show of solidarity, be a leader, etc, but for her development, the league is pretty easy. Let her train additionally elsewhere and add on league play elsewhere. The director knew her, had seen her and was fine with it, but the coach wasn't willing. He said she needed to focus on making sure that other team won.

Anyways, she did. She found another team actually in her age group that was all from a top club in Nova. Loved it, and she got offers to guest with other teams as well. So it worked out, but I think the experience is relevant for the OP as a sort of buyer beware. Check out the team that she's been offered a spot to and ask the right questions about their development plan for her.

With the right things in place, it can be a good experience, but there is a definite risk of it being a waste of time. Puma is only really good if you make the top team. So that's another caution.

What 2-3 month futsal team will have a “development plan” for any player? Especially hired guns from outside of the host club?

Development is the main reason most do Futsal. It's in the training and happens as part of the game experience. That's why US Soccer has Futsal as part of its Academy.

Yes, futsal helps a lot but that doesn't mean that as an outsider if I sign my kid up for Alexandria or Puma I should expect a tailored development plan for my player.
