Tesla CyberTruck

rivian will be bankrupt and out of business in the next year and you'll have a useless broken pile of metal

I'm trying to think about when I've seen an uglier design but I really can't.

I also think the only people who will buy these are Elon stans. There's nothing about this, uh, truck that would appeal to the pick-up crowd.

We have owned two. There are better EVs out there. Once Tesla opens their charging network there is zero reason to own one.

+1. The best thing about Tesla is how they introduced electric cars, and easily available fast charging, to the masses. But the cars are like tin cans - many traditional manufacturers (and some startups - Rivian!) make vastly superior electric vehicles.

Goes directly into the "What was he thinking?!?" pile, along with the X symbol, some of his kids' names, and very dubious embrace of extreme right or conspiracy theories.

I agree that Rivian is so much nicer!

I don’t see how Rivian continues to exist in the market after initial start up demand was met. Everyone who wanted one, has gotten one now. Now what?

I saw it in person at Montgomery mall and it’s so ugly I couldn’t stop staring. Would hate seeing this on the road.

This is quite simply a cuck truck - a truck for the cucks.

I've seen a couple and was put off at first but I like that they pushed design limits. Cars are boring and this kind of shake up is helpful, embrace it! I hope Elon takes a long walk on a short pier but I won't hold him against this vehicle.

What’s your evidence that everyone that wanted one has one? They still have a huge wait list on the R1S. I want one, but I’ve already got an SUB that’s fine. But when I’m in the market in a couple years I’ll be looking at one.

Subaru just inked an agreement to use Tesla's charging network. This likely portends Toyota using Tesla's network too, since Toyota owns 20% of Subaru and the two brands are sharing battery and hybrid technology.

Rivian also has an agreement for the charging network. I believe Volvo may as well. Seems like they’re opening it up to everyone.
