Tesla CyberTruck

I see a lot of women driving jacked up pickups and big trucks like a big dump truck. They drive most county school buses too.

I've only ever seen one on my way to work at 0640 -- we're going opposite directions through an industrial park so who knows

It's wonderful that Elon has invented birth control for men!

I live in southern California and see them every day. There aren't that many but you can't miss them on the road or in a parking lot. They are too big, clunky and awkward and the finish looks cheap. They look junky and their weird shape stands out. But they don't look rugged, tough or even cool. They look huge in a parking space. There are a million Tesla sedans on the road which don't look much different from other cars and blend in; they are even subdued looking and actually look like a car. These do not. The shape reminds me of a wedge of cheese and the vibe is like an old futuristic toy like Rock'em Sock'em Robots. I've seen one woman getting into the driver's side of one on a parking lot. I was surprised. I imagine the drivers are all guys between 30-50.

Wow. Eye-opening. I was aware of the serious safety and construction problems, and that the EU had banned them, but I didn't know that Cybertrucks actually couldn't perform the job of other pick-up trucks, like hauling and off-roading.

If the Cybertruck team had taken one second to think about it, they'd surely have realized that this was a vanity truck solely for a tiny niche market of tech bros who like scifi and just want to drive around town and annoy parking valets. And that would have been OK! Elon can afford to make an ugly truck just for his fanboys.

But the error was to try and mass-market it. Lack of empathy indeed.

You are missing out on some VERY funny videos documenting this.

Also, off-roading voids the warranty.

There's one that parks behind a restaurant near where I take my kid for swim lessons and my brain has definitely processed it as a dumpster a few times.
