You don't understand CCL. CCL is a clubcentric league. When McLean opted to put their U13 and up 'A' teams in ECNL, they also had to move their U12 and under 'A' teams to another league. They were not kicked out, they opted to move their 'A' teams out. Their 'B' teams still play CCL2.

It's a shame that name calling and spreading disinformation has become the norm in today's society.

Can you explain why Loudoun still have their A teams in CCL at the younger ages? Also Arlington? They both move their A teams to ECNL and DA once they hit the U13 age group. McLean and BRYC were kicked out and Loudoun and Arlington were allowed to stay.

McLean and BRYC were not kicked out! If they did not decide to move to ECNL, they would still be in CCL. It was their choice to leave. BRYC doesn't support a B team. McLean's B teams weren't competitive enough to move to CCL1.

Why can Loudoun and Arlington still maintain CCL1 and CCL2 teams:
- Loudoun County population - 400,000
- Arlington County population - 250,000
- McLean population - 50,000

Have kids at McLean and we were told it was a 2 year ban. And it only affected the U11 and U12 A teams for boys and girls. All of the other teams continued playing at the same level. Word now is that the CCL is such a mess McLean may choose to not return those 4 teams to the CCL next year. Most are playing NCSL and just playing a year up.

I know the Arlington Boys top u112 team play the EDP. If Arlington keeps a top team in the CCL under u12 it because they feel the team is weak. After u12 the big clubs move their top teams to other league.

All of their top teams under U12 are in ccl. I think you mean over U12.

Not on the boys side. Watch and see what happens with the girls side. It can not continue.

You are just wrong. reds for U9-11 boys are in all ccl. Where do you think those Arlington boys play?

You sure about that?

The following clubs – who participated in this season’s U12 US Development Academy League — have committed to playing in this EDP Mid-Atlantic DA club conference for 2019-20:

Arlington Soccer Association (VA)
Baltimore Armour (MD)
Bethesda Soccer Club (MD)
Loudoun Soccer Club (VA)
PA Classics (PAE)
Richmond United (VA)

So is red above or below pre-da or whatever they call it now?

Yes. I am sure. This is just for U12s, for boys clubs stripped of DAs or U12 DA who all wanted to play together. All top Arlington teams at younger ages play ccl. We play them. Red at U12 is their third team. Please note Loudoun at U12 did the same thing but all of their younger boys top teams are in ccl. I don’t care one way or another but accuracy is always appreciated.

CCL has not been the same since the Richmond clubs left years ago over the "top teams" rule. It was VCCL back then and they changed the name when they rebranded without that rule when the Strikers/Kickers departure made them realize no ECNL or DA club was going to put their top team in CCL instead. At that point it was a Northern Virginia league with the added bonus of travel to Virginia Beach and Roanoke and the clubs were stupid to remain. If the TDs ever catch on that parents hate driving to Roanoke and Virginia Beach for games when there are plenty of equally competitive teams right here that will be the end of CCL.

Surprisingly it hasn't been the horrible structure of CCL which has caused it's current downfall, it was US Soccer starting girls DA to compete with ECNL and ECNL adding boys in retaliation. There are currently more teams playing in DA and ECNL from this area than there were in WAGS D1 before CCL started. It's the exodus of so much local talent into these disastrous regional leagues which has killed CCL, NCSL and the other local leagues.

I don’t know, I think CCL is more of a disastrous league than DA and ECNL. NCSL was/is fine, but never had a good plan for club concerns - it is a team centric model. ECNL killed WAGS (GDA wasn’t around yet). Both ECNL and GDA realized that to have a club centric model and get high levels of competition, you need to expand the geographic region. CCL’s region is never going to be large enough to force a top teams only club rule and provide enough competition for the larger clubs. CCL has run its course and it’s just a cash cow for a couple of folks. Besides, travel for some of these ‘regional’ leagues is often better than CCL.

I’m not any of the PP, but why tell everyone to shut up? All you have to do is not read any of these posts. Also, it’s Xmas around the corner, so go shopping online instead. Happy Holidays to you!

This sums it up very well.

Maybe the PP is one of the few remaining TDs trying to scam club parents into thinking that CCL is an elite league?

Or maybe you are one of the idiotic remaining parents who need to be proud of their league to make up for their team/club/child shortcomings?

Not I. My older kids are playing in college now and my youngest is likely to focus on a different sport. I just hate the current stratification of the youth soccer scene here, and CCL and its apologists are major culprits in bringing it about.

Can you share why you feel so threatened by internet strangers talking about CCL if you are not part of CCL leadership?
