First day of school mom mimosa parties

Have you NO understanding of social media, at all?

99.99% of the country is not doing this. Trends happen on social media BECAUSE they are not what people do, but what they might find fun in a fantasy world.

Every time someone posts an inane question like this, I realize that most people are too stupid to use social media.

Why oh why doesn’t DCUM have a General Judging forum? Threads that are created for no other purpose than to judge people could go there, and DCUMers like OP could spend all their free time with their tribe in one easy to find place.

Taking care of kids is hard work. I think its fine for these moms to celebrate for one morning.

It's a way to reconnect with school related Mom friends. Mom friends, acquaintances really, people you haven't been in orbit with during the summer. It's feeling back in the swing of things, getting back to the new school normal. Sounds like fun. Though I wouldn't drink. And wouldn't stay too long. And sharing life's complaints, that is what people do. Sometimes it's all people can think to talk about.

It's not distasteful, it's just sad imagining the neediness of someone posting a picture of having a drink in a driveway to "celebrate" their kid going back to school. It screams for attention, like they have no milestones or events of their own to celebrate.

I much prefer the flood of first day of school pics of all the kids. Because, you know, they are the ones going back to school.

Connecting is fine. Drinking is also OK with me. It's making it a social medial thing that is pathetic.

This is great idea and would be an insanely funny forum to peep in on occasionally. Kind of like the political one.

Yeah, I don't know these types of people. I know that #winemoms is a thing, but I also know that alcoholism among 30 and 40 year old women has been increasing because of this "let's drink wine to escape from our lives" culture. Get hobbies, ladies.

Totally agree. Now these moms can go back to their MLMs.

I had one one year. No different then a Friday night wine and cheese with the neighbor hood moms. A lot of us take the first day of school off. It did not make Facebook though.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

And because, you know, no one invited you to the momosa party. For obvious reasons.

My mom had a “back to school brunch” with other neighborhood moms in the 1980s. It’s not new.
