Need ideas for what to do with kids today

This. The constant need to have a planned (fun!) activity doesn’t set kids up well at all. Raising kids who constantly need to be entertained because they were conditioned that way is detrimental to them. It creates an issue in school as well because kids expect every single lesson to entertain them. Kids don’t know how to keep themselves occupied because there’s always something planned for them. It’s ok to stay home and do “nothing”. Especially on the hottest day of the year. Who wants to be outside doing anything today, anyway?

from 7am until 830pm? I for one like to get out of the house even if its only for a couple of hours to break up the day a bit.

I have 3 kids. People often comment that we do so much. Going somewhere for 2-3 hours or going out to eat still leaves 10 hours to do nothing at home.

Pillow Fight is not a thing that you can do to break up the day... I mean how long does this pillow fight last? 5 minutes?

Lol I love threads like this because people will be like “have a dance party.” Ok cool that killed 10 minutes. Amazingly fun day.

Our pillow fight was intenste - 3 kids + 2 adults. We started with smallish pillows. By round 3 we switched to the bed pillows. We ran around the basement chasing each other with pillows, monkey in the middle with the pillows, ninja-"battle", Marco-Polo rendition, and I used my silly voice and made up some really funny storylines along the way. Killed a bit more than an hour (water breaks in between).

Can't speak for how other families do it.

Wow, ok
