Go to a public pool. You know not everyone has pool memberships right?

We are just bumming around at home. Reading/crafting/chores/family games/Netflix tonight while eating dinner.

How old are the kids, public pool is an option, or sprinkler and water play in the yard, go somewhere indoors or go to Michaels and get some fun stuff to do then do it at home. Watch a movie with popcorn later.

Chessie’s Big Backyard has a fantastic sprinkler park for free. It is located in Franconia. Wear water shoes or flip flops. Also has a small outdoor playground and shaded forest path. Bring your own food and drinks as nothing available except ice cream bar cart.

This. The constant need to have a planned (fun!) activity doesn’t set kids up well at all. Raising kids who constantly need to be entertained because they were conditioned that way is detrimental to them. It creates an issue in school as well because kids expect every single lesson to entertain them. Kids don’t know how to keep themselves occupied because there’s always something planned for them. It’s ok to stay home and do “nothing”. Especially on the hottest day of the year. Who wants to be outside doing anything today, anyway?
