This. The constant need to have a planned (fun!) activity doesn’t set kids up well at all. Raising kids who constantly need to be entertained because they were conditioned that way is detrimental to them. It creates an issue in school as well because kids expect every single lesson to entertain them. Kids don’t know how to keep themselves occupied because there’s always something planned for them. It’s ok to stay home and do “nothing”. Especially on the hottest day of the year. Who wants to be outside doing anything today, anyway?[/quote]

I have 3 kids. People often comment that we do so much. Going somewhere for 2-3 hours or going out to eat still leaves 10 hours to do nothing at home.[/quote]
