As I read through the posts, it dawned on me what this subject was about. I feel sorry for everyone who is stressing out over the acceptance of their children into these schools. What are you going to do if they aren't?? Trade the poor kid in for a better one? Hide your faces in shame when your associates inquire? Worse--what are you going to do if they are accepted? Rub it in all our faces? I know we all want the best for our kids, but don't you think this is ridiculous? Why do you do this to yourselves?

Get over yourself. I think many here are just excited, not stressed.

What I plan to do if DC doesn't get in is to allow myself to feel disappointed, then move on. There's no hiding one's face in shame (lots of great kids and families get rejected), and no gloating either (well, maybe a little, just on these anonymous DCUM boards, but hopefully not too much). Either way, I will give my DC and big hug and tell him how much I love him, just like I do every day. What is so ridiculous about that?

Anyone with older kids (grades 4 and up) waiting for a letter today/tomorrow?

YES! Our nanny just called and there is a package from Maret. A PACKAGE! I can't stand it and I have a meeting in 20 minutes. Should I tell her to open it?

Wow, am all happy for 14:23 and I don't even know her! It is nice to hear someone got a result they were hoping for!

YES! Tell her to open it! What grade are you applying to?

Please let this never be me. Seriously, I do understand why some of you are sooo anxious about this. But it just seems so ludicris. When did this city get so crazy?

Ugh...this is why I'm glad I live in the burbs.

Don't read the post. You are better than everyone else and we are ok with that!

This is why we are all posting here. I'm THRILLED for the Maret Package Parent and I don't even know her. Congrats to you!

To the "ludicris" (sp: ludicrous) - no need for you to busy yourself reading our posts. And, please, stay in the burbs.

I'm back. We were declined. Pleasant letter. No reasons given. UGH! Why do they do this right before the weekend?????? I didn't think I would let this bother me, but I feel like the life was just sucked out of me. Expletive...expletive....expletive.

Oh that is terrible! I'm so sorry. Why in the world would they send you a package for a decline letter???

PP, I"m really sorry. I hope there are other schools on the horizon that your child gets into. But I'm confused - did they actually send you a package?
