This is even worse then college acceptance... hope the kids do not know what is going on, as the look of disappointment in the eyes of the parents of kids who do not get into the BIG 3 (or 'exclusive preschools') would be devastating to the child!

Thought we might hear today from Maret & Sidwell, but no....nothing came. Oh well, another 24 hours of suspense!

PP, I totally empathize with you. Would that be totally overboard for me to call Sidwell and ask whether DS was accepted? I just don't know if I can take the wait much longer, and nothing came today!!! Bummer...

Darn! I'm waiting to hear from them too. Did you get your mail already? My Friday mail does not come until very late afternoon.

I get my mail pretty early (it's already come for the day) but nothing came today!! Why should the letters take more than a day within the DC region?!

I thought Sidwell & Beauvoir sent their letters today--i.e., wouldn't arrive within DC until tomorrow.

i can't believe you people! it is like hysteria. last year my friend ran into a woman at the park whose child had been admitted to sidwell and she said the parents were acting like the child had just become president - jumping up and down. telling everyone. high fiving everyone. i mean i can't believe this complete hysteria. get a grip people! what next? are you going to tackle to postman when you see him? i could write a hysterical movie script about this entire dialogue over the past months.

I naively clicked into this post thinking there was some sort of epidemic or crisis going on with the schools and they are contacting parents. As I read through the posts, it dawned on me what this subject was about. I feel sorry for everyone who is stressing out over the acceptance of their children into these schools. What are you going to do if they aren't?? Trade the poor kid in for a better one? Hide your faces in shame when your associates inquire? Worse--what are you going to do if they are accepted? Rub it in all our faces? I know we all want the best for our kids, but don't you think this is ridiculous? Why do you do this to yourselves?
