Annalee or Leanna?

I would do Leeanna or Annalise

No other options. It is going to be one or the other. And it’s okay if you don’t like either name - it won’t change our minds.

Thanks!

I will never understand the rational for combining names. If it were me I would choose one as a first name and the other as a middle name. I would either chose Anna Lee or Lee Anna. Anna Lee flows better although it reminds me of Sara Lee. It is great you want to honor your mothers but, remember your daughter is her own person and has to live with the name. Did you parents do this to you?

I’m not the OP but my parents DID do that to me. I always liked it, and never felt like I wasn’t my own person. I mean, I grew up with it, it was my name so not sure how the combined name would make me feel like I’m not my own person? Anyway, when people would ask about my name they thought it was kind of cool that I was named for two grandparents. I did laugh when they did the combined names in Twilight b/c that was such a HORRIBLE name (Renesme?!), but thankfully my name is fine sounding as is a combination of Anna and Lee. Go for it.

You don’t have to understand, PP. This is OP’s choice and a decision that has been made.

She is asking which we prefer - Leanna or Annalee.

I will never understand the rational or need to insert your opinion on more.

Mayne Annalise. Leanna is also nice.

Because one of the deceased mothers was named Lee and not Lise. Duh.

I like Annalee (but I am from the South and agree that it sounds Southern).

I like Leanna but pronounced lee-ah-na.

Leanna sounds pretty and is a lively tribute to your families.

Annalee just doesn’t seem as nice. Maybe if you separated it to Anna Lee it would be better but I can see why you wouldn’t want to do that. Annalee sounds too much like anal for my tastes.
