Neighbor issue - dogs pooping on our lawn

I am a dog owner and I have to tell you, that is pretty aggressive. I would never, ever do that to a neighbor (leave dog poop in their yard I mean). You may be looking at a pretty unreasonable, pretty unpleasant neighbor relationship and you'll have to decide how you want to manage it. Of course you're in the right, but you will take on considerable additional annoyance by pursuing it if they're as nutty as they sound.

Aggressive to ask us dog owners to clean up our dog's poop, twice? I guess it might depend on her tone, but either way. We as dog owners are responsible.

I assumed PP thought it was aggressive of the dog owners to have their dog poop in the neighbors' yard. But I am so flabbergasted by people who think this is OK (I'm a dog owner; I would never) that i may be misreading.

You misread the PP's comment, but seriously... taking your interpretation, you "guess" that it "might" be aggressive for someone to demand that you remove feces that originated in your household from HER property, after you placed it there knowingly and deliberately?

There's something really wrong with you.

Put up those signs that say that your grass has been treated. Place a visible camera in your front yard. Bag the poop and put it into their yard. It's tough dealing with people like these.

Can you install some kind of fencing/barrier to prevent the dogs from coming in? The HOA should make an exception for this situation.

Ring their door bell and hand them the poop in bag
very matter of fact

Motion activated sprinkler . Even if the people do not learn, the dogs will.

^ but you have to see the dog do it. Then, you take it to them immediately.

I'd think you'd want to leave the bag in the sun to warm up a little, no?

Walk out with you camera and calmly film. Call the police.

Why are so many pet owners filthy?

Op here - I was very polite when I confronted them. The funny thing was they both acted surprised like oh, did my dog do that? And I said yes, and I watched you see it and then walk back into your house without picking it up. They were embarrassed, I am sure, and said okay they would clean it up. Next stop will be to discuss with the wife because yes, possible they do not communicate. I asked my husband to do it since he sees her out in her yard more than I do.

I am also a dog owner so I really do sympathize with not having your own fenced in yard but that doesn’t give them the right to be so careless. And again, it’s not like they were doing something else and genuinely didn’t see the dog poop, I literally watched them see it happen and ignore (the kid had an oh shit look on his face and ran back into his house closing the garage behind him).

Make sure you forget to close the bag when you leave it on their step!!

Personally I’d be inclined to use a plastic spoon and just smear it all over their door step. Wouldn’t want to leave the spoon itself since that might be littering..

My dad is so sick of his immediate neighbors letting their dog run wild to poop that as soon as he hears it barking in the side yard, he goes out with the shovel and picks up the poo, follows the dog back to their front step, and drops the poo on the top step. He also calls animal control about the loose dog at least 3 times a week. These people are incorrigible. They’ve been fined, their dog picked up and had to pay to get him back, i’m certain they’ve stepped in the piles, but they jus don’t seem to care. He tried being nice about it at first, like you are....but people who act like this are generally not good people.
