Because it is a strong school with tuition about 1/3 the rate of many other schools. Great value even if you could afford 75k a year.

I wish it would break it down by honors colleges. I bet a significant number of the UMD and U of South Carolina, and the like are going to the honors colleges. My kid is at another MoCo strong HS and he is getting recruited hard (hand-written birthday cards, etc) from USC.

This is impressive. Is Whitman the school that did away with a lunch period requirement? Or was that Churchill? Whichever school it is is promoting an unhealthy culture.
