| only if they are paired with jeans. |
Tacky. H belts. Tight pants. Douchebag glasses. Grown ass men who dress like they’re unemployed Instagram influencers. |
Good lawyers and bankers wear black. Maybe you’re in advertising and around a bunch of dandy boys who went to NYU. |
Wow, hate knows no bounds on DCUM. |
| The trolls on this thread are bringing all the funny |
All of those outfits look fantastic. What are you talking about? The only one I hate is the red cropped pants picture. |
| This thread is cracking me up! In the culture I was raised in, the color of the shoes is related to the season. You wouldn't see a banker wearing black shoes in summer -- that's considered a winter look. Brown/tan shoes are considered appropriate for summer. Wearing black shoes with your summer suit would be considered an old-fashioned and frumpy. |
Snob. This is exactly what is wrong with sartorial "rules". The fact that someone out there has decided someone is lesser because they don't abide by whatever rules you have set. I hope your snootiness keeps your cold heart happy and warm at night. Why should you care what color shoes someone wears? |
| For all the pushback OP is getting I did wonder who selected their shoes when they left in the morning, and it is hard to get used to seeing, but I guess if the shoe feels right, wear it. |
| There is nothing odd about brown dress shoes. They have been around and fashionable with non black dress/khakis pants since the dawn of time |
| Black shoes look good with black and grey. Brown looks best with everything else. Your sense of fashion is way outdated. |
No. French PP again. There is a little shoemaker near my parents' apartment in Paris who has been there for ages (well before any of us were born). The wealthy, conservative residents of the 16th arrondissement shop there. It's all fine brown leather. A little more zeroes than I care to spend on shoes, personally. Same for Italian shoes (the birthplace of elegant shoes!). I'm sorry, the British have never been terribly good at shoes, so if you see black shoes in London, it doesn't mean anything at all. They have other strengths. You REALLY need to have some background and culture about the origins and lineage of clothing and accessories before you spout off complete inaccuracies, OP, and some PPs. |
| Honestly I just find it odd how men's fashion has evolved so little since the 1920's. Literally, men are wearing suits that are remarkably similar to what men wore 100 years ago. Women's fashion changes every season and honestly to me most of the time the men look like they're wearing some kind of weird dated halloween costumes. Why is that? |
Please stop wearing khakis unless you work at Target |
I don’t think you know what Eurotrash means. |
