| Someone needs to refer to this thread on those endless threads in the real estate forum on why walkability and proximity to metro go for a premium. Traffic is the most unproductive time suck. |
| DH still stuck in VA. He’s been driving for 3 hours and is at a standstill in Arlington. Can’t get over to MD. |
Or anytime someone posts a thread about how terrible metro is. I've been home for hours (and I live out near vienna) |
| Took me 2 hours to get from Takoma to near Chain Bridge and I still hadn't made it down past Macarthur onto Arizona. At that point I turned around and cancelled my plans (work-related, so I was reluctant to cancel). |
| Cars bumper to bumper in all neighborhoods leading to chain bridge. We abandoned our car and walked home. |
DH is trying to get to chain bridge. He had to pee in a water bottle. Thankfully he had a full tank of gas. Going on 4 hours. |
| we need another Potomac crossing. desperately. |
|
At least it's warm if you want to get out and walk, or pee outside. I remember my neighbor and her little kids getting stuck during that snow storm a few years ago... for 8 hours! Stay strong everyone. |
| The ripple effect is amazing - traffic was horrible in Pimmit Hills |
| someone on Waze posted a picture |
Amazing. And it’s a beautiful day. Imagine what it would be like if it were raining |
| Took me 2hrs15mins from Old Town Alexandria to Germantown, I use Waze and it alerted me to the mess. I had to go through gazillion roads in DC, then Silver Spring but I made it, thanks Waze! I do have a major headache though. |
| I happened to be in Georgetown this evening. It was chaos. |
Once every 10 years. Bfd |
It is more than that and today's traffic is a similar anomaly. |
