So people can fall asleep while driving?

Also wondering if anyone has constructive advice for times like these, or (any civil engineers out there?) what infrastructure change would help matters?

Yeah, I would say drain the swamp and no more gridlock.

Left Bethesda 430pm. Reached Sibley 507pm. Turned around and now back in office.

Rosslyn is a parking lot. Our usually quiet residential neighborhood has people backed up trying to use it as short cut of some kind. It’s not going well for them.

That said - totally empathize with you in your current predicament. Take care

There are more Maryland drivers in McLen on the weekends, totally random. Surely not everyone is going to Tysons Mall, some are in downtown McLean - notice a lot more recently. Mclean used to be relatively quiet after a certain time, and also on weekends. Now it is starting to look more and more like Rockville, including beggars on multiples medians.

Yup. Guarantee it.

Looking at google maps /traffic of our whole area right now.. even at this late time of day ... is giving me nightmares. This issue is causing a massive ripple effect into DC and VA. God bless anyone on the road right now!

On the news they said the tanker was filled with gas. Removing it safely doesn't look easy.

It took me 4 hours to get from McLean to Gaithersburg. Of course once I got on the beltway it was empty because of no bridge traffic going north. From the beltway entrance home it was 20 min.
