Maybe he was upset that Lula misspelled his name in the email press release. Couldnt even get that right, even with all the fanfare. Subject line said “Gracia”.

This is ridiculous, but entertaining.

Why dont the clubs just merge? SYC and LMVSC are in the same area aren't they?

Unfortunately after all of this it may take some time for them to work together, merger seems to be waaaaay too optimistic.

That would make lots of since, but I would imagine the newer smaller club would want to be the surviving club and that just won't happen.

Alexandria only participates in CCL Premiership. They are not part of Pro23, CCL Championship, or NextGen (https://clubchampionsleague.com/member-clubs/)
Their focus is on the boys' teams 05 and younger. Check their standings (https://clubchampionsleague.com/standings/). With the exception of the 04 Girls Red team, the rest of their girls' teams are ranked in the bottom half of CCL. The boys' teams 06 and older are no better.

McLean left CCL to focus on ECNL. That's fine for the girls' teams who travel farther to compete at a similar level to CCL Premiership but doesn't do much for the boys.

"or SYC with the TD switching" (How many scholarship players are you taking to SYC?) See the PP "Looks like the SYC top team/state cup winner under the previous TD (Hint: LC) has lost its rhythm under new TD and coach Este, losing games at Jeff Cup 8-0 & 4-0 and lost this weekend 3-1 to a no name (sic) team in EDP. In researching, SYC beat this same team 6-1 last September."

I expect SYC will play in the CCL Championship (CCL II) level. They were here once before but blew it off to play in NPL. If you're not familiar with this discussion, go to the SYC thread (https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/782219.page).

Here's the description. "CCL Championship is for ages 11-17s, boys and girls, and is a competitive platform offering both individuals and clubs the opportunity to develop under the same standards as the Premiership. Not only does the Championship offer a fantastic competitive environment but it allows players to compete at a level appropriate to them and possibly prepare them for Premiership play in the future. Unique to the Championship, clubs that do not participate in the Premiership can work with like-mind Directors and clubs to help grow their club within the club-based model."

That's a nice way of welcoming window lickers to the small bus.

LMVSC will release their coaching slate within three weeks. This will include names familiar at both the local and the national level.

Not completely accurate on the Alexandria boys side. 05 boys are #2 out of 17 in CCL, 06 boys are #3 out of 17, and of course you excluded two really strong teams, the 07s (also #2 out of 17) and the 08s (who are beating everybody in sight this year). I'd say that is pretty solid, especially for a first year in CCL's top division.

We're in agreement. I meant to say 04's and older. The 05 boys and younger are excellent examples of the progressive passing technical direction ASA teaches and Lee created a juggernaut with the 08 boys who have only become more dominant under coach Boychev

Why are we talking about SYC?

Because the response was to a PP mentioning Alexandria, McLean and SYC

A combined score of 19-0 in the Jefferson Cup including shut outs of CCL powerhouses Potomac 3-0 and Loudoun 6-0. They're not accustomed to losing much less being shut out.

When did Potomac become a powerhouse ? If they are maybe they should reinvest to make muldoons farm fields actual soccer fields and not mud baths.

Add insult to injury because we have to drive past the multi- million $$$ mansions to play on a horse field. Add Poolesville where they seldom cut the grass. At U11, it's mid calf and toy can't even see the kids cleats

LMVSC "announced" TD's grandmother died, so he declined the job. They knew he couldn't commit early but they were desperate to find someone ASAP and announced it early. He got cold feet and decided not to move across country. I'm sure the pay wasn't' worth it. I hear the club's ownership is pretty cheap with their staff. (Hens, top tear coaches continuously leave the club)
The club survives off players on "scholarships"/ financial aid and I'm sure it will continue to do so!

Said it before. LMVSC is the new SYC. Parents are just as intertwined in coaching the kids and influencing the rosters as other SYC parents have said before. Hope SYC parents dont think its greener pastures over there.
