Do you really think there's much of a difference between a 14 year old and a 16 year old?

I am a hardcore feminist and I LOVE Cardi B. You don't have to agree with everything she says/does to appreciate her joy and her outrageous authenticity. I think she's great for teens. It takes many types of role models.

This is what will happen:

she'll get snapchatted/ig lived singing along to the lyrics, she'll drop the n-word while singing along because cardi can't go one minute without saying n****.

Then it'll be uploaded for the world to see and your DD's reputation is ruined.

I forgot to add the link, tell me this is not amazing:

I love her. Not all of her points make sense but I love how she feels them and engages and is not intimidated by anyone and that's just what teen girls need tbh. I can think of a lot of worse teen girl idols:

As a mom of an almost 16 year old--YEAH. The teen years are the most rapidly developing years next to infancy/toddlerhood. They mature dramatically in two years time. Two years ago my DD was a middle-schooler. Now she has a driver's permit, her first steady boyfriend, her own money she earns from a job, and is beginning to plan for the SAT and look at colleges.

Cardi B a role model? Please give me what ever it is you are are smoking? Cardi B perpetuates and capitalizes on every negative stereotype about Latinas. She is vile and does us a disservice. She has set us way back. It is going to take someone like Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz, or Shakira to redeem the horror that is Cardi B. Some folks really adore seeing us brown folks behaving like low class degenerates. Sigh!

Cardi B is basically selling soft core porn laced in catchy beats. She is the female version of 2 Live Crew. Remember those guys? OP, do not allow your daughter to attend a Cardi B concert. Her concerts are heavily attended by men on the prey. I do not care about adults attending her concert, but a 14 year should not be at a Cardi B concert. Hell no you should not let your 14 year old go!

OP, I agree with the poster who mentioned that if your daughter is videotaped saying the n-word or other vile language at the concert for all the world to see, then it could have serious consequences. Folks are now getting fired from jobs because of crap they did back in high school. The same PC culture which tells you that it is okay for your daughter to sing Cardi B lyrics will be the same culture who will ostracize her and your parental choices if she is caught on tape. If she is white and gets recorded saying the n-word, then will you be okay if folks start to label her a racist? This is the reality that we are living in today. Words and actions do have consequences.

Confederate flags and drunks.

WTF are you talking about!

1) confederate flags? which country music concert did you go to where you saw this?

2) drunks? what are you - 90?

My teens go to all kinds of concerts but the county music concerts at Jiffy Lube live had confederate flags and lots of police activity removing drunks who were fighting.

They have also been to outdoor concerts at mariweather, no confederate flags, lots of drunks.

Also Shamrock Fest... no confederate flags, lots of drunks...

I listen to Cardi B almost daily on my commute. I find her Instagram to be highly entertaining. I respect her hustle. I would not let my 14 year old go to her concert.

I'd consider it but it would depend on what other performers are with her. But if your th is against it, I'd consider his opinion.

As an adult male who listens to Cardi B, if I had a 14 year old daughter, she would not be listening to it. Similarly my 14 year old boy does not listen to artists like Tyga.

I think possibly you need to review the Cardi B feminism explainer and also possibly the work of Shakira because what?

Do people actually approve of Cardi B’s lyrics?

What exactly do you respect?
