What’s equally wrong are parents pretending it doesn’t exist. The kids with the most uptight parents are the ones ending up with

teenage pregnancies.

How old do you want your daughter to be before seeing Cardi B?

The “N” word?

Please explain what is wrong with your child listening to an “artist” scream the “N” word over and over?

Is that bad?

She is disgusting so if that’s what you feel ok with for your dd then sure!

No way I’d go after the stampede in Houston.

Absolutely not. Trashy and filthy. Plus, I’d not be giving money to the anti-vaxxer spreading lies. She doesn’t deserve it.

But more importantly, the content is just inappropriate

I thought the people declaring her a role model and feminist were joking - but apparently not. smh

Her music being absolute garbage aside, sprinkling a couple superficial girl power platitudes and rapping about explicit sexual topics does not make somebody a feminist. I can't believe that even needs to be said.

If you want your daughters (and sons!) to be feminists, there are plenty of excellent artists out there with good music and insightful, positive lyrics. You may have to travel off the beaten path a bit instead of just taking whatever the music industry decides to spew forth in their latest cash grab, but at least you won't have a kid that thinks Cardi B is somebody worth listening to.

Thoughts?

DH is right.

Btw, why are you asking perfect strangers?

Not OP but to get a broad range of perspectives? 🤷🏽‍♀️

What?

Her style, plus rap in general, champions feminism 100%.

No, sweetie. It’s inappropriate for your age.

Then again I agree with whoever on here said that the best way to de-sexify something is watch it with your parents.
