| I would get size 10. Maybe she hasn’t had her feet measured in a while. Get something like sneakers that she can wear now and in the spring and summer. My grandma would take take me show shopping and always got them a little big so they would last longer. |
| My son had small feet for his age for years. But the size the tag says and include a receipt. |
| If you're not going to buy what's on the card, put it back and get a new one so that someone will get the kids some shoes! How arrogant to think you know this kid's size better than her own parents. You've never even met or seen her! |
But how does OP know it's the wrong size??? The card is clearly marked size 9! |
np- This! I hate when people get angel tree type tags and then do the equivalent of mansplaining why the child needs something different, despite not knowing the child. What would that be called? "Richsplaining"? Like, the girl wears size 9. Get her size 9. You don't know her shoe size better than her own mother. I remember last year on FB (not DCUM) someone asked for advice about a semi violent video game that a 12 year old asked for on one of those tags. The game was rated 12 and up or something, and the kid was 12, and the person was wringing her hands about if it was "appropriate" to get this kid a violent game "when he might not have much home supervision or good role model to explain that violence is bad". She wanted to get him a racing game instead. How condescending can you be? Don't get me started on the person who chimed in n FB to say she wasn't getting her charity child a skateboard that was asked for because she felt the child needed a helmet with it, and a helmet wasn't requested and she didn't want to guess on the helmet size, so she decided the child should get a different gift. Like, just don't participate if you can't do it correctly. |
| Op here-I will buy the size 9. I just thought the size was off and know these are sometimes filled out but grandparents or other relative who may be guessing. I always buy what the child asks for, I’m not sure why people are telling me to put the ticket backs I truly was just worried the shoes would be too small. |
I'd buy a 10 to give room to grow. Remember some of these lists were made 2-3 months ago. Give a gift receipt just in case. Some people just have very small feet. |
| My daughter is nine and only wears a 1...I can't remember what she wore when but a 9 would make sense to me! |
+1. Your kid has larger feet, OP. Kid feet come in all sizes. |
|
Op I am having a similar issue. I say dont buy the shoes but buy other stuff that is on the list.
I have a 6yo DD and we picked a 6yo girl. We only have to buy one thing of the list but can but more if we want to . For toys it said, lego and play doh so I got both of those. For clothes it said size 12 pants and size 14 tops. Now, my kid is pretty well built and she is in a 7/8 so I can see a larger kid being a 10 maybe. But i cant imagine any 6yo being in a size 12 pants and a 14 shirt. I am pretty sure these clothes if bought are going to another person. So I am skipping the clothes and buying the 2 toys requested. |
+1. I’d go up a half size or full size. I do this with my own DDs (3 and 6), too. Also, Stride Rite is/was having $19.95 sale (but $30 for free shipping). We got some cute sneakers. |
| BTW, the Five Below store (at least in Columbia Heights) as Elena dolls (Barbie style) for $5! |
| O/t but where do you get an angel tree tag and where do you return the gifts? (I would like to do this.) |
|
I have a 4 year old who wears size 4 clothing and size 7 shoe.
My sister literally still wears little kid shoes and she is 28. She just has super small feet like my grandma. |
Our Church did ours. |
