We're in West Springfield and our forecast is ice, rain, and sleet, with possible accumulation. Maybe it'll be nothing, but after watching busses slide on the ice all the way down the hill in front of our house, I'd rather FCPS be wise and cautious. |
Please no closures tomorrow or Friday. |
Weather.gov says less than 0.1 accumulation for West Springfield. I hope they do not call off and just stick with a 2 hour delay. |
That's ice accumulation, not snow accumulation. I hope it's a bust and DC gets to go to school. But we've had lots of lousy weather this year. Who knows? |
How much ice can accumulate with temps well above freezing? FCPS is like the anti-Post Office - anything less than a sunny calm day shuts it all down. |
| Still no update |
| They just posted a reminder on Twitter that they’re opening 2 hours late. |
| So only 2 hours delay? Weather app says it’s going to be snowing till noon. |
|
| I think they made a mistake and should’ve closed. Ice is nothing to mess around with and they closed for far less last year. |
| We’re in Arlington and we’re getting a huge burst of snow. We’re not even on a delay but I’m thinking that was a bad call. |
| Seriously? |
| There is actually a lot of snow. I'm surprised they stayed open considering what they have closed for in the past. |
| The roads are terrible. I’m out now. |
| They should close. Definite accumulation in south Alexandria. |
