Of qll the people for you folks to applaud and laud on this topic, you pick Damon? Way to look the other way.

Nice try at deflecting.

We are actually wondering why Kavanaugh would be flip and disrespectful to US senators—asking them if they ever played quarters, blacked out, or if they drink.

If this guy isn’t shady he would jump at the chance to clear his name with an fbi investigation.

He’s repugnant and doesn’t deserve to serve on the Supreme Court.

So good for SNL for poking fun of a pompous windbag who tears up at recollections of working out with teammates and is obsessed with calendars.

Don’t understand the criticism of Damon. No matter what he’s said or done in the past, he’s an actor. Not a Supreme Court nominee like kavanaugh.

I was about to say the same thing. He’s an actor, and this is what he does well. He nailed it.

I am impressed with the SNL writers pulling this together in less than 36 hours.

This is what SNL does. Watch it or don't, your choice. It's tasteful that they didn't try to imitate or mock the victim and her testimony since she is not a political figure. Kavanaugh is fair game, though.

Agree. Writers were very careful. Use of one word, one time, in particular (nickname of K friend) made me cringe a little and should not have been used.

Hilarious!

But he's probably so believeable as douchebag Kavanaugh precisely because he and Affleck were the same kind of drunk douchebags at high school parties themselves.

Best line: "I'm going to start at 11, then take it to 15 REAL QUICK!"

My two favorite lines:

I’m a keg half full kind of guy.

Sen Klobuchar: Did you ever drink too much beer?"
Kavanaugh: You mean was I cool? Yeah.

“Nickname of K friend”? Damon said “Mark Judge.” Were other names named?

Thanks for posting that! She is the best.

I love that one too but the all time absolute best is Amy Poehler playing Britney Spears at her divorce attorney’s office. https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/britneys-divorce/n12081

The pet names of friends when Kavanaugh was younger: PJ, Squee, etc. When he said the nickname for the hypothetical friend Greg, the audience gave an admonishing “oh” sound. I assume that is the one the PP is referring to.

It's a good thing that not everyone thinks like you do. If someone accused me of doing something this horrible and I didn't do it, I'd fight back too. They tried to hang him out to dry because he likes to drink beer. Note, they had no corroborating evidence of a sexual assault. They just wanted to embarrass him about his stupid yearbook and the fact he was a typical high school boy of his time. He's no more repugnant than Cory Booker (who admitted to groping a girl in high school) and the half-insane "ranking member." I cannot wait for him to get confirmed. He stood up to the bullies and now the bullies are out of luck.

Loved it. Matt Damon is funny!! The part where he scrunched his fact up while reading the regs was my favorite. Kate McKinnon was pretty great too, as usual.

Second quote was the best line in the skit.

This is why SNL exists! It's called satire. Yes, there is a leftist bent but it's been that way since it started.

+2
South Park does it all the time - every week. And that's a 30 min show not just a 10 min monologue

+1

I hope doing this skit gave him pause and time to reflect on his asshole comments, defense of Weinstein and a look into how stupid aggressive defensiveness looks.
