I really wish they hadn’t gone there. So many women are still feeling really raw from last week’s events, and not everyone is ready to laugh about it yet.

I actually thought they did it very tastefully, there is little to no reference of the assault, they are making fun of his entitled and partisan attitude.

This is what SNL does. Watch it or don't, your choice. It's tasteful that they didn't try to imitate or mock the victim and her testimony since she is not a political figure. Kavanaugh is fair game, though.

+1 They could have had fun with her too but she is a victim and not a political figure. I don't know if Kavanaugh is guilty but he is fair game. And Kavanaugh's testimony was over the top and easy to play off.

Wasn't Matt Damon one who defended Weinstein, then said he would fight like hell is someone ever accused him if assault...?

I agree that, if they were going to go there, they were tasteful in focusing their comedy on him rather than on the allegations against him. Objectively I know that, but emotionally I can’t compartmentalize it yet.

You know what - I really don't care. We are the majority population, if all those women feeling raw hadn't just stood by we wouldn't be in the situation of nominating the subject.

So tough. Stay raw.

Loved it - so funny.

It was a great opening and if you thought they wouldn't do something about the hearing you are clueless as to what SNL is all about. Did Matt Damon sell out the #metoo movement? No, he's an actor and it was satire in support of the movement.

Huh. Dcum recently thought otherwise about Damon. There was a whole thread scorning him and his support of Weinstein's and cavalier attitude about sexual assault. Damon is just using this to deflect the mirror from himself.

This must be the first time in 40 something years that you have ever watched SNL. Re-runs of the Golden Girls will begin in 5 minutes but they are bawdy!

Matt Damon helped sweep Weinstein's information under the rug.

Of qll the people for you folks to applaud and laud on this topic, you pick Damon? Way to look the other way.

I was sexually assaulted. I laughed at Matt Damon's sketch. I needed that.

My all-time favorite SNL skit is still with Melissa McCarthy though!

Same. Rape survivor, and this shit has put me through the wringer. I deleted all my podcasts because every show I subscribe to has been on a Kavanaugh streak. But this was very welcome to me.
