greatschools ratings is a predictor of school safety

Said no one ever. |
It's irritating when someone tells me gunshots that result in a school lockdown in my own neighborhood are nothing to worry about, and, its racist to do so. I understand the impulse to protect Drew and downplay negative news, but it's not easy to do when you actually live here. |
ok at least crime in the neighborhood and near the schools |
What do you expect APS to do about it? After all, you're the one saying the school is the issue here, what do you want the school to do to ensure your child's safety? And why are you less worried about the far more frequent nighttime shootings? |
Sure, if you can show us the statistics to back that claim up. I'm sure you can right? |

| The county board should be partnering with acpd. A shooting a year is starting to sound like that area is going backwards. The SB should be sensitive to farms number in the fall and not rezone struggling households currently zoned Oakridge. It’s going to take effort from all sides to improve that area. APS Included. |
Which tab shows the correlation between crime rates and greatschools ratings? |
Of course it's something to worry about. It has nothing to do with the school though. People who live near there or who have a beef with people who live near there think it's ok to shoot each other. Not a place I'd want to raise my kids. If you can get out, why not get out? |
And there we go. This is about you fear-mongering because you don't want to get zoned to Drew. APS can't do anything about a shooting among people who have nothing to do with APS that happens a couple of blocks from the school and you know it. |
match up zip codes and crime map = correlation. But keep your head in the sand. |
I love near Nottingham, and I didn't know there was a shooting near here unless you are referring to the murder/suicide of an elderly couple. |
You mean the shootings you earlier accused me of "pulling out of my ass"? I am concerned about them and that's why I listed them for you. I don't expect APS to do anything more than they are doing, and nowhere have I complained about their response. Locking the school down and getting kids inside was the right choice, IMO. And last, I never said the school was the issue. I repeatedly said violence in the surrounding neighborhood was the issue, and was reflecting poorly on Drew. And that makes it an appropriate topic of discussion. I'll let you get the last word in, which will no doubt be yet another effort to mischaracterize my words. I'm done being patient with your knee jerk reactions. |
Dear Dips#it, I’m a different poster. The poster you are trolling has told You multiple times THEY LIVE IN NAUCK. They are already zoned Drew. I moved out of south arlingitn because of sh#t like this. The idea that you don’t see Local gov’t’s ( that includes APS) role in improving this situation is beyond delusional. Go.sat.down. |
