Arlington H1N1clinic today

Anonymous
I got there at noon and was out by 1. They are vaccinating everyone - I am not in the high risk group and I got the shot. As I left the line was getting longer though. I would try later in the afternoon once everyone goes back to work.

Why did you go to get the vaccine if you are not in a high risk group? Yes, I know they are following the honor system to filter people out, but clearly you have no honor. Every time you see a picture of a child in a hospital with H1N1 complications, I hope you wonder if people like you who abused the system prevented that child from getting the vaccine. But you won't, because you probably have no conscience. Shame on you.

I think you are asking for some bad Karma. I would not do that even if I could. "

I went to Alexandria to check on the vaccine under 2 and they said they didn't have it but would be happy to give me the vaccination.. why would I not get it? In a sense I'm only protecting my child further.. bad karma? I would totally disagree and recommend any parent whose child can't receive the vaccine yet to get it as well.. which is why I posted the info.

I called the number for the Casey Clinic today and got connected to the Alexandria Health Department. Recording said no vaccine available at the moment and will be posted when it is. Is the Casey Clinic open today? I have a child with asthma and I would like to get myself vaccinated so I don't expose him to the H1N1.

They were open this morning. They were limiting shots to pregnant women though (Flumist only for others)

AGREE!! What is WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? Are you unable to read? Priority for the high risk groups. Just because you can sneak through when they are not vigilant does NOT make it ok.

I AM in a high risk group and stood in line for 4 hours this morning in MoCo so my dd could get the flumist. I qualify for an injectible, and I was there in time to get one of the 200 MoCo had, but I CHOSE not to so that those who NEED it more than I can get it. I'll get a shot when there are more.

I guess I should expect that honor is lost on most DCUMs based on the crap I've read on these boards.

Do you have children? What are you teaching your children by cutting ahead of the CDC designated high risk groups to get your shot? There is a special place in hell for people like you.

Agreed. The place I got my shot (I am pregnant), I had heard was vaccinating all who showed up. My husband, good soul that he is, said no way would he even consider jumping the line in front of kids and pregnant women; he will wait until there is enough for everyone.

There was a woman there trying to get her entire extended family, who are not in risk groups, vaccinated. She wasted a lot of the workers' time and in the end I'm pretty sure didn't get what she wanted. And looked really selfish and inconsiderate in the process.

I really believe that what goes around comes around or whatever that saying is. Shame on those people who are not high risk. I hope everyone disabled or chronically ill or otherwise high risk gets the shot soon -- and if you hear of someone suffering because they didn't, I hope the shame and guilt of that teaches you to change your ways.
(I especially love the mom who not only got the shot but "encourages" other moms to do the same! How noble of you, PP? Are you now the CDC?)

Went to the Arlington Clinic this morning and it was not bad at all. We got there at 9:30 and were done by 11:00. It was A LOT less crowded when we left. The nurses were great too! Great job Arlington County!!!!!

Actually, I did not ask for the shot at all. I went in and told them I was there for my two sons and the woman said to me, "Do you want the shot?" and I said no, I am not in the high risk group. She then said, "Well, you should get it, we are trying to vaccinate everyone." So I got it. I did not abuse anything and they were not turning anyone away.

You absolutely did abuse something. Unless you live under a rock, and were unaware with those at high risk are to be vaccinated first, you knew it was wrong and did it anyway. You suck.

we are all entitled to our own opinions... at the end of the day when the vaccine is not yet available for our young children under 2, we are only protecting them by getting the vaccination as well. The clinic staff ENCOURAGED it. The rude and suggestive comments above about what comes around goes around is just extremely distasteful. This is a life-threatening virus we are talking about here.. have some class.

Nice try, but I'll bet you already know this logic doesn't fly. What would you do if your son came to you and said he was at a party and someone offered him drugs? And he said "no, I shouldn't take those." But the person insisted "really, you should try this, everyone should try this, I'm asking everyone!" Would you be ok with him accepting something he KNEW he had no right to have under those circumstances?

You are a horrible person and you are setting a horrible example to your children. I only wish there were a way to sue people like you who abuse the system.

Hey, I am confused as to who can get the shot at the Arlington clinic.

What do you consider the father of a child who is high risk? My daughter has respiratory issues and can't get the vaccine yet (she's 14 months). So is it selfish for my husband and I (who am trying to get pregnant) to get the shot today?

Not the pp you are reaming, but this doesn't wash. A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL OFFERED HER THE SHOT! If we can't trust them, then who do we trust?

She didn't lie to get it. I think you should all back wayyyyyy down.
