Can you (do you) finish a regular restaurant portion?

I usually finish my meal. Normal weight and athletic. I will caveat this- I wouldn't have eaten the toast, I would have ordered it sans toast. But can I finish an omelet? If I'm going to pay $15 for eggs and a coffee, you bet your A I'm eating the whole thing.

I typically will have a light something in the morning before going out to breakfast with friends, so I prob. wouldn't eat the whole

Of like 8 ladies, I was the only one who finished my meal. It was a lot of food but not an excessive amount, normal for a diner, three-egg Swiss mushroom omelet with hash browns and toast. I ate it all and was full but not uncomfortably so. Everyone else ordered similar sized meals and most left a good amount on their plate. I hear people bemoaning restaurant portions a lot and I guess I don’t really get it. I can always finish my meal if it’s a normal mealtime. I don’t like taking leftovers because I won’t eat it and I don’t like waste.

I’ m a normal weight, not skinny at 5’7” and 145 pounds, the same since I graduated college.

OMG...this is a super pet peeve of mine. I love to eat and if the food is good I eat it until it's gone. I do get full, but it's usually after dessert.

Sometimes when I go to brunch meals I don't eat much because I've been up since 6am and already ate something.

I would usually finish a meal like that (may not eat all the potatoes, as sometimes they are not well prepared). I'm neither thin nor fat and don't diet, but exercise and don't eat between meals.

I would eat it all if I was hungry. If I wasn’t I would skip the toast. When we are on holidays I generally don’t then eat lunch.

Really? What other people choose to put in their mouth--or not--is a pet peeve of yours?

Huh. I don't even notice what other people do or don't eat, or how much. I don't observe and monitor what other people consume.

I'm 5'5" and not skinny. I could finish a 3 egg omelet. I might eat a half piece of toast and a few bites of the hash browns because I love them but do not need all those carbs.

Usually I pair an omelet with broccoli or fruit (instead of toast/hashbrowns) which I probably would finish.

Depends on the restaurant. If I don't eat it, I just leave it. I don't take leftovers partially because I don't even have a microwave. They always just sit in the fridge until I toss them.

I pretty much always finish my entire plate when I eat out. This includes appetizer and main, which I always get at dinner. I’m 5’i and 130 lbs. I workout regularly and eat fairly healthfully at home, so I definitely indulge when I go out.

PP should say 5’8

I can usually finish a full restaurant meal when I go out to eat., but will typically feel really full and gross afterwards. I try to not go out very much since its pretty much impossible to eat healthy at a restaurant. You never know what they are putting in your food and the servings are always bigger than what you would serve yourself.

Its kind of messed up to go out to eat, pay a lot of money for my meal, have an internal struggle with myself about whether to eat it or not, and then feel guilty and gross when I do.

For me personally, I'm not saving any money or getting any value when I eat beyond the point of being satisfied. If I eat too much, I just feel sluggish the rest of the night and bloated the next day--not worth it!

I try a little bit of everything, eat as much as feels good of my favorite things, and then the fork goes down. It's not going to get any better than that.

When I can, of course I take home some leftovers. "Free," easy lunch for tomorrow!

But if I can't take it or share it, I just leave it. Whether it's wasted on my thighs or wasted in a garbage can, food beyond the point of being satisfied is WASTE.

Depends on the food.

An omelette? Sure. No problem.

Italian food or fried food? Might be a problem, I have reflux so I need to know when to stop with certain things...
