Wrong. Mario and Luigi clearly wore those starting in 1983. |
No. It wasn't. Were you even alive in the 80s? |
Exactly. The Handbook did not like unnatural fabrics. It was all about cotton turtlenecks, wool sweaters, and cords. |
You obviously were not alive in the 70s. No one, and I mean no one, who wore polyester in the 70s would ever say such a thing. |
Actually, it didn't become a part of fashion until mid to late '60's. I remember. It didn't need ironing! That is why it was worn so much in the '70's, it was relatively new. Then, we discovered that if it was hot, that your clothes absorbed body odor. So, there was a reversal to all-natural fabrics |
Lmao |
Double knit baby! |
Unfortunately it never went away. It’s very difficult to find all natural fabrics for all types of clothing. Even in moderate to expensive brands. |
| Went out of style for a while in the mid eighties until just recently. |
Mario and Luigi wore overalls as work uniforms. They wouldn't ever be seen in jumpsuits. |
70s. Not 80s. Those double knit polyester jumpsuits were never in style in the 80s |
| All those Under Armour athletic clothes are made from 100% polyester knit. It is a much softer and smoother feel than that heavy knit from the 1970s. |

This is what people wore in the early 80s:

That is wicking fabric with nylon and spandex in it, not 100% polyester. |
| My mom had the most beautiful polyester pantsuits in the 1970s. One was robin's egg blue and one was butter yellow. We lived on a hippie farm and almost everything was in earth tones, but those pantsuits were so gorgeous. She definitely got rid of them by the early 1980s. |
