I haven't decided between Wexton (who was a great state senator for our family) and Stover yet, but I'm definitely not voting for Helmer or Friedman. Barbara Comstock's people would be licking their lips if one of them emerged victorious from the primary.
Please comment further. What makes you think this?
Dan Helmer = has horrible campaign ads (check out his "you lost that centrist feeling" entry), likened Trump to Osama Bin Laden (although the majority of the district dislikes Trump, this rhetoric is not appealing), basically 100% gun control focused campaign, and would be a democratic man vs. a republican women matchup in the general election, subsequently some suburban women would vote for Comstock as a woman.
Friedman = semi-carpetbagger (I think she moved from DC a year ago), very California focused support and donations (she has the endorsement of Alyssa Milano and other Hollywood people that have nothing to do with NoVA), and from many reports, not charismatic.
Stover and Wexton both seem like good choices. Stover is authentic and actually lives (and has lived) in the district. Wexton is an elected official who has a significant base of support in Loudoun county. Comstock lost Loudoun by 1 point in the 2016 race. Wexton can rack up votes there like Northam did last year.
