STA anti semitism expulsions

Things like this happen all the time at every school. Stupid kids doing or saying stupid things. Many of the schools tend to sweep it under the rug which means you will most likely never hear about it and kids will continue to get away with things they shouldn't.

Agree with the first sentence. But this doesn't happen everywhere. And it's not just "saying stupid things". We've never seen this at GDS or Mret where are kids/nephews are.

We saw it at one of the two schools you mention. Climb off your highhorse.

Honestly, it has to be a lot more than teasing a kid to get expelled no? There has to be more to this story.

It’s probably not the first instance of egregious behavior. They probably did other things, were warned, parents were warned, and this was the last straw. Parents probably did not take it seriously, because they couldn’t imagine expulsion happening to their little snowflake.

Ditto. GDS and Maret are not exempt from this kind of behavior.

The Neanderthal posters are funny too. I didn't expect to get any amusement from a thread with this title.

It would be truly shocking and unheard of for this to occur and GDS, considering the school's unique history and strong social justice orientation.

Any idea what year the students were at STA?

I don’t think you understand how private schools work. Some of the STA families are third and fourth generation. Lots of wealth and privilege. You also have a number of parents who are busy professionals who have outsourced parenting. Between wealth, privilege, and neglect, it’s possible to end up with some effed up kids.

An assorted variety: kids who have never been appropriately disciplined, kids who are pushed hard to achieve their parents’ dreams, kids who have material wealth but are emotionally neglected, kids who are not a good fit for the high pressure environment.

Any of these situations can create angry, effed up kids who strike out at others.

Yeah.... and ummm, your vision of private school comes from cheesy movies, dumb sitcoms, and after school specials.

Nope, years at the Cathedral schools. You are clearly the one who has no idea of private school culture.

NP - my kids have been in private school their entire school life (one in college, one in high school now) and this has not been our experience at all. However, my kids are not at the Cathedral schools or even a so-called "Big 3". Maybe this is more of a particular school culture issue than a private school issue.

Is it expulsions, plural??

This is an overreaction, unless they are repeat offenders.
