STA anti semitism expulsions

Heard troubling news about students mocking some Jewish students with Holocaust references. Thankfully the school has acted. As a LS parent we haven’t seen this behavior but are concerned about our sons experience down the road. Any insight would be helpful. My experience with school admins has been one of damage control and opacity.

As a fellow lower School parent I have not heard anything about this and would greatly appreciate more information. Sounds very disturbing and unsettling.

We have not heard anything either, but I just wanted to share how appalled we to hear of such an occurrence.

I'm not sure we are seeing a "resurgence" necessarily, but it seems that in the last couple of years, the neanderthals among us are allowing their atavistic impulses to come out into the open.

That's offensive to Neanderthals, who by all accounts were actually quite civilized

I don't think the Neanderthals were antisemites, don't blame them, plus it turns out they were smarter than once thought.
Have there been other incidents of anti-semitism and racism in the LS?

Yes, the school has acted strongly as it should have. There is no tolerance for this type of bigotry. But as a fellow parent, why would you post this on an anonymous forum instead of calling the school?

Are there any private high schools that would accept kids who have been expelled from other schools? Even less selective schools don't accept many new students in 10th-12th.

Are you an idiot who can’t read? The OP cites their experience with the school as one of opacity and cover-up. Why would they call the school?

OP, school administrators often have to be opaque because of privacy issues. We are talking about minors, despite their horrible behavior. I can see how that might come across as a cover-up.

I hope they will send out a school-wide notice reaffirming how unacceptable this behavior is.

I can tell you as a parent from another school, I much rather HEAR this and SEE they were expelled. That shows me this is a great school.

Things like this happen all the time at every school. Stupid kids doing or saying stupid things. Many of the schools tend to sweep it under the rug which means you will most likely never hear about it and kids will continue to get away with things they shouldn't.

Wow, how heartbreaking for the student body that this was going on. And, what kind of kid do they admit that espouses these kinds of views. You'd think with all of the competition for spots they would be able to avoid this type of attitude.
