| What kind of job is in Germantown that supports a $3m house? Those things don’t go together. |
This is silly. Being competitive is not a bad thing. Elitism is a subjective option at best. Drugs are every high school in MCPS. My DC is at UMD Honors and most of her Honors program friends are from either Wootton or MCPS magnets. Not even one kid from QO that I know of. |
ok, and our friend’s daughter went to oxford from QO. what’s your point? |
LOL. how many got into Oxford from QO? |
The honors program is for people that can't afford full pay at an Ivy or a SLAC. |
at least one, which is probably true for most good public schools. i doubt wootton had more than one. |
Wow... That's a BIG deal. Congrats to your friend's neighbor's cousin's daughter or whoever. |
family friend, and yeah, great kid. |
Oh! Many is the time I've driven by that house and wondered who would want to live there. Now we know! "Magnificent, stunning, custom masterpiece w/ breathtaking vistas of Sugarloaf Mtn. & rolling countryside. Gated stone entry, 4 levels, 13,000+ SF, impressive detail throughout, 4.17 manicured acres, huge poolside pavilion w/ stone fpl, wet bar & bath, KOI pond w/ waterfalls, pool & putting green. Most furnishings convery! Adjacent 6.8ac horse farm w/ direct access to park trails is also available."

Check out Clarksburg HS carefully before you buy there. |
| OP, I've lived in Germantown for a long time. If good schools is your priority, move to Wootton boundary in Rockville. Excellent academics. Your commute will be against traffic, around 15-20 minutes. |
+1 And buy close to the school in case MCPS tries to redraw school boundary map |
Which aspects of Clarksburg HS, specifically, merit careful checking-out, in your opinion? |
school performance |
What about it? |
