Have you ever walked out of an exercise class?

Oh I can relate to so many of these! Heavy bleeding at body pump. Checked in the bathroom and yeah, wasn't going to be able to finish the class! Discreetly went back to put all my stuff away.

Bad instructors. Bad prompting in step, boring repetition in step, mean pilates instructors.

Other people. Disgusting unwashed stinky fat man in body pump (and I was so excited for him to exercise!), clueless people who dance into your personal space.

But for all this, I have stuck with an amazing amount. I have done a ton of classes over the last 30 years. I'm usually easy to please.

Yes, last night I left a class 10 minutes after it started. I regularly attend the class twice a week but I just had no energy to make it through the workout.

I wouldn't do that, unless the instructor was so bad that he or she was putting me in danger of in injury.

Well, kinda. I do Body Pump (weight lifting class) regularly and my knee doesn't let me do squats. So I leave during that track and come back for the rest. It's not uncommon for people to come in and out of that class b/c they want to do just some of the muscle groups.

For Body Attack (high intensity class), the instructor regularly says at the beginning it's ok to leave if you've had enough and encourage to stay a little longer next time. Everyone knows the class is hard and no one thinks anything of those who don't stay for the entire class. The regulars will give high fives to people who work up to staying the entire time At my gym, it's a fairly supportive bunch.

Haha, I love this.

Once when I was fairly new to yoga and on a tight budget,I used one of my precious class passes to go to a class that ended up being lying on the floor under a blanket. That was it. Nap time. Quiet music playing. About twenty minutes in the instructor told us we could roll on our side if we wanted to and twenty minutes after that to roll to the other side if we wanted. Most of the class slept through the whole thing. i got madder and madder that I had wasted a class doing absolutely nothing and left much less relaxed than I arrived.

LOL!!
