He is a lousy physicist. Just ask any physicist. |
I read some comments on reddit about college physics clubs worked hard to raise enough money to pay him come over for day or a seminar, all excited to meet him, only to be mocked and put down by him. It was heartbreaking. Yes, he is an asshole. |
That is all he knows. He has not done research for years. What is there to talk about? |
Funny, that’s what my physicist husband says, even goes so far to say he hasn’t done real physics. |
Why are they rude? As an agnostic, why must everyone assume that I have to share their religious teachings? |
No assumptions made, however that does not give anyone license to belittle others. |
| When NDT gets going I really miss Richard Feynman. That guy was the real deal. |

He is now under investigation for sexual misconduct. It is only a matter of time the shoe drops considering how mean and nasty he was towards the little people who adored him.

it was always obvious, to me, that this mean-spirited charlatan was a total creep in private. |
I could not stand the guy after I read the story posted by the college kid. It is like kicking a dog that adores you. He is sick. |
I can believe that. But I’ve met physicists who are doing stuff so advanced that they couldn’t even explain it to me. So I like what NDT is able to do for the PR of science. That said, I hate Star Talk. |
Yep. This is about the least surprising thing ever. Charlatan is the perfect word to describe him. That and asshole. Also, lol at “the PR of science.” I needed a good laugh. |

I read the blog the original accusations come from. It’s a far right blog going after enemies.
There are three allegations. One is of rape from 30 years ago, light on details. The second claim is that he touched a woman inappropriately. A woman waited in line to meet him and she’s wearing a sleeveless dress with a solar system tattoo up her arm. He “looked under her dress to see if Pluto was there”. In other words, he looked under the shoulder strap in front of a photographer and other people. Inappropriate? Probably. Rape? Hardly. This was at a party where they had been drinking. The final claim is that he invited his subordinate from the TV show over to his apartment at 10:30PM for one-on-one “cheese, wine, and relaxation”. My guess is, she knew what this meant (how could you not?) but then had second thoughts since she was engaged. He kept pushing for more but when she refused he let her leave. This is also not rape or a crime though it is inappropriate for him to do this with a subordinate. The article talks about a “Native American handshake”. I’m sorry but a handshake is not sexual assault. That is the only touching she says he did. He’s an ackward nerd that invited a woman to his apartment, just the two of them, for wine. In the article she called him a “sexual predator”. He shook her hand and hit on her. That’s it. He didn’t rape her or prevent her from exiting his apartment. This is not Bill Cosby. The term sexual predator is being thrown around way too readily these days. |
and a jerk |
| I just read up on the details of the rape claim. She doesn’t remember that night or the next day. She has magical crystals that use the power of planets to heal. Her magical crystals tell her that Tyson raped her.... |
