Yes. Natasha Richardson, the actress (and Liam Neeson's wife) died this way. In her case, she was skiing, fell and hit her head. This kind of injury is almost impossible to detect and generally fatal. |
| I just rewatch the series. It should be required viewing. It’s on my all time fave list. |
| I just finished the last episode and will miss the Proudmans. I see there is supposed to be a web series featuring the nurses but don’t see where to watch it. Anyone know? |
Aww, too bad. I didn’t know it was officially over. I haven’t heard of any spinoff. |
|
16:32 here. I assumed that Season 7 was Offspring's final series finale, but Asher Keddie said in April she's open to returning as Nina. However, there's been no discussion and it seems she has a lot of other projects lined up.

I wouldn't hold your breath. It's definitely an ensemble show, so it would be important to re-unite some of the original characters. For example, I don't think Nina alone could do a spin off like Frasier did from cheers b/c so much of what defined her was her crazy family. |

Lots of series regular actor exits already: {SPOILERS}
Patrick, Darcy, Mick, Philip Noonan (which was never explained on the show as far as I know). It would never happen but I’d watch a show with just Nina. Love this show. |
I don't understand what you meant by the above. Patrick and Darcy wouldn't be in a new show (for reasons obvious to people who've seen the show). |
| I wanted to thank all the posters who recommended this show. I'd started watching it a few months ago, but couldn't get past the first episode. After reading this thread, I decided to give it another try and absolutely loved the show. Seasons 2-4 were my favorite and I wish they'd let Patrick and Nina experience parenthood together in season 5. With Mick's character leaving the show anyway, it made more sense to me to kill him off. Billie would have played the widow role to the hilt. Seasons 6 & 7 were fine, but I found Brody, Will and Kerry less interesting & and the Martin/Mick absence awkward. Anyway, count me in as another one missing the Proudman's! |
Everything you said x 10000. Season 1 was my least favorite. I’ll add I missed Philip Noonan after his (silent) departure. |
They come back as zombies? |
|
I found Offspring thanks to DCUM and I love love love it!!!!
As much as I would have been sad to have it end after 5 seasons, in hindsight I truly think the finale to season 5 was perfect! So moving. Gutted that Billie and Mick got divorced. |
| I go back and re-watch my favorite episodes (which are the ones with Patrick). |
Same here! |
That’s exactly the point: lots of series regulars have already left. |
