One of my favorite/most devasting OffSpring moments is when Billie yells at the man at the hotel pool.
What a fierce woman. I love her. |
| I finished the series last night. I definitely felt season 6 and 7 were not as good as the others. I did not like many of the story lines, especially the Brody plot. I hated that Billie and Mick broke up especially since she left Lawrence to find Mick to tell him that he is the love of her life. Then she and Mick break up and she meets a strange guy and they play weird games. Not a fan of that plot. Team Mick all the way. I liked Harry! Didn’t understand why Geraldine and Phil got together. Wonder if there will be another season or if it’s over. |

I read the actor who played Mick was unavailable for seasons 6&7. I think they really did a disservice to their love story by having them break up.
Maybe instead of killing off Darcy they should have killed off Mick. |
Agree with that! |
No. You couldn't have two sisters grieving widows. It made more sense for the dad to die of natural causes. The writers creatively addressed the actress who plays Billie pregnancy in real life. They had her stuck in New Zealand unable to fly b/c of an ash cloud. Mick was such an awesome character. Having them divorced seemed like a cop out but made more practical sense. Lawrence's fixation with Billie made no sense, but I would have preferred if they had reintroduced his character and Billie cheated on mick causing the break. She already cheated once before but a second time would break the camel's back. |
Yes. You are right. Both sisters could not lose both partners. I just didn’t like that after she told mick he was the love of her life , they break up. Too much drama. Anyway, I just loved them together. I got annoyed with the last two seasons. Dumb story lines. Loved the show though. I am going to miss it! |

I think the writers ran out of ideas. The first 5 years were the strongest. Quirky, funny moments interspersed with poignant moments.
Most characters were all exagerated in some way or the other and they had very over the top storylines like Nina’s first husband was a stalker who exploded things, Chris Havel’s wife being missing, Nina not being Darcy’s but the show still pulled it off some how. Felt like they just threw stuff together at the end of the last two seasons. But the writers wanted a happy ending for Nina. I think the show was going to end originally at season 5. That finale had things pretty tidy with a glimpse of a future for Leo and Nina. Then when they restarted season 6, they turned leo’s character into even more of a wet blanket to clear the way for a new love interest. |
The show should have ended at season 5. |
I disagree. I think that the later parts of season 7, when Nina is in a stable relationship but grappling with her career, were necessary to get her to a place where she’s not quite so much of a train wreck. I was practically cheering when she nailed her job interview. I also think Billie settling into a successful job was good, although I found her romance in season 7 absurd. I agree some of the storylines aere unnecessary — Geraldine’s in particular — but I appreciated the maturation of the main family members. I will desperately miss the show but also hope they don’t do a season 8, since everyone seems like they’re in a good place now. |
| I’ve wondered if the US could do a remake without f’ing it up. Not sure. |
No. Just no. |
| I miss Offspring so much I would give a US remake a go. |
Ugh, it would end up looking like a grey’s anatomy spin off. US shows have trouble with self deprecating and/or quirky characters. They make the characters incredibly obnoxious or self absorbed. |
I suspect it would be terrible. |
| Does anyone know if a death like Patrick's could actualle happen? |
