Hmmm I am the pp you quoted. In what way does my answer suggest that I am bizarrely invested in her life? The question was asked and I gave my opinion. I am not a groupie and I have never gone to one of her shows. I am merely stating the obvious. She is successful whether or not you like her. She writes her music and performs it in front of world wide audiences. Her music sells and is played on the radio.

At this point I think you may be mentally unstable . I brought up Mariah Carey as an example to say Taylor swift isn't a groundbreaking artist in any way . There is literally nothing that she's currently doing that hasn't been done on a grander scale by someone else . Hence the Mariah Carey example , got it ?

I can't figure myself out. The first time I heard Look What You made me do, I thought it sucked and turned it off. Dumb narcissistic song.
Today when it came on the radio I pumped it up and started singing. Then looked at my 13 year old in shock, "Am I really singing this?!"
I don't even really like it but I get into it. It's that way with many of her songs. I don't understand.

This type of thing is what makes Taylor special and sets her apart from other artists. She took the time to read Ronan's mother's blog and write a song from it to bring more awareness to childhood cancer. I enjoy her music, but I also like who she is as a person. She uses her fame to bring attention to important issues in very effective ways.

Taylor has also donated a ton of money, reached out to many of her fans on a personal level, and most recently stood up against sexual harassment. Still love that she sued for (and won) $1.

TS is like a major, respected songwriter who has been doing it since she was 14. Were she not a popstar she would be one of the highest paid songwriters in the industry. She recently was nominated for the song she wrote for Little Big Town for best country songwriting, and it's the only song in the category with a single writer- everyone else had a team. That's the talent level you're dealing with.

If Katy Perry was a wave, Taylor Swift is a tsunami. There will be no escaping her or hoping she dies off. And it's actually really fascinating to see and watch.

She is just a product that took off. She wanted to write songs. Her Dad had connections. She was marketed and the rest is history. She's had some work done...her teeth, her nose even perhaps, and she is bright...she had the adult mindset as a teen. But all this isn't working for her personal life, unfortunately.
