My urine smells exactly like finger nail polish remover

This happens to me when I eat red onions. I know because I rarely eat them so it's noticeable when I do.

That’s not the high end of normal. It’s the low end of prediabetic.

That makes no sense. Are you gaining water weight then? If you are not gaining water weight, going very infrequently, then you are not drinking enough. Are you measuring how much you are drinking?

Water retention is a huge issue with PCOS, insulin resistance, etc. Id definitely track how much water you are drinking, limit caffeine and soda but dont do anything crazy like 100oz unless you are super active and/or using some type of electrolyte/salt solution daily. Clear is not the goal. Pale yellow/straw is the goal. If its barely colored water every time you pee then you need to decrease intake and add in an electrolyte solution/salt.

Is it all day or certain times of day?

When I had acute kidney injury my urine smelled similar from proteinuria. Have you been having any swelling? You should go to the doctor immediately.

It’s a classic type 1 diabetes sign. It’s not always that, but you should definitely see a doctor as soon as you can.
