Maybe we should subpoena Tiger parents phone and email records to see if they paid an essay writer, college consultant, cram shop for exam data, and on and on.

Tell me how international kids can't speak a lick of English yet write flawless common app essays and score perfectly on the SAT.

How many rich white parents on this forum alone seek to hire counselors to help their kids with their applications? How many hire private tutors? You really think only Asian American students prep?

And this is not about international students. Affirmative action only applies to US residents. Please learn the difference.

Not only do white parents hire private tutors and admissions counselors, psychologists, and have no problem with prescription medications (supposedly for ADHD but really to "force" kids to stay up and study) etc. etc., they also use any and all connections to "game" the admissions process. Let's subpoena emails and phone records of upper class white parents to see how much tutoring, counseling, medicating and "use of connections' goes on as well.

Stop generalizing, this "white" parent did none of the above and intentionally kept both children off of ADHD meds, even when their colleges were trying to shove it down their throats. Both children made it into the colleges of their choice on their own and succeeded med free and are successful independent young adults per suing their dreams. I am an upper class white parent, and we are all not the same. Stop it.

Perhaps you should tell other posters to stop calling Asian American students "drones", "robots" and "soulless" and how their parents "force them into cram schools" and "encourage them to cheat". You see how hurtful hurling generalizations can be. Yet, it goes on obsessively unchecked against Asian Americans without a second thought.

You are a racist for stereotyping Asian American students as "soulless" robots. You would not stereotype black students as stupid or Hispanic students as lazy because that would not be politically correct. The reason you feel relatively safe to be able to spout whatever vile, racist stereotypes against Asians IS THE REASON we have an institutionalized racial discrimination against Asian American students in college admissions. Leave international students out of the discussion since that is a separate issue not relevant to discrimination against Asian Americans.

Asian American college students don't speak English? I was clearly referring to non-citizen international students.

White black Asian students can be drones robotic soulless anti-social. It's not racist. It's just not ideal characteristics that elites want on campus. Elites ask for you to list extracurriculars & essays because they're looking for smart (obviously) outgoing leaders who make fast friends. If they wanted 4.0 perfect SAT students there would be no need to ask for anything but transcript and SAT score.

Anti-social grinds destroy a campus vibe. Period full stop.

You have not been reading this thread and other similar threads if you are going to deny the above stereotypes are used as "talking points" against Asian American students and that they are not used in describing white or black students. In fact, those bigoted stereotypes are used to justify the racial discrimination against Asian Americans in college admissions.

Honestly, this. What will happen is that these schools will begin looking for traits that are not academic to get more white people on campus.

Look, I worked in biglaw and saw it as clearly as day. All of sudden no one cares about grades or writing ability when it comes to Asian attorneys. They get branded as too meek and lacking in "leadership" skills. Hence unqualified compared to white (mostly male) attorneys. Black and Latinos get labeled unqualified academically. You can't win at this and the whole exercise is just another chance to engineer the deck in favor of people it's always been.

I wish people realized this sooner. There's no way that the scores alone will be the sole basis for admissions. What the schools will obviously do is pick random idiosyncratic things to create their class.

Almost. They are also more likely to send some of their ill-gotten gains to their alma mater.

Well it is the year 2017 and that has clearly been flipped on it's head. Jewish students are now 29% of the population at Harvard and non Jewish whites are 13%. Jewish students are the most over represented group. Since Jews make up 2% of this country and non Jewish whites make up more than half the population, all Harvard has become is a place where just another group of self serving hypocrites are controlling admissions. Admissions should not be based on the color of your skin, your culture, your religion etc. Harvard would never be able to reveal the admit rate of Jewish students vs non Jewish white students it would be something like 75% vs 2%. Nothing has changed at Harvard.
