It does seem like they are setting themselves up for a limited run. It's like what my writing teacher used to say, "you break it, you buy it." They include all these scenes for shock value without any real story purpose but then the writers are stuck in a world where all these ridiculous things have happened to no end...it's a definite way to lose viewers.

+1. Well put.

They spent a total of like 60 seconds of airtime on Betty and Jug having sex for the first time and then gave half of the episode to the killing of the random drug dealer. Poor decision making by the writers.

Even though I realize that they aren't trying to be a typical high school show, the fact that they glossed over the main couple's first times seems like a misstep. Ultimately, what will keep viewers coming back is their connections to the characters and the relationships, not the ridiculous, far fetched storylines.

I guess growing up in the era of Dawson's Creek sets a standard but shouldn't Betty (the 16 year old good girl) sleeping with Jughead at least warrant a conversation?

I haven't met many white girls named veronica have you? I have met many latinas named Veronica

I wish that tehy'd convert it to something like the Archie's Weird Mysteries cartoon

This is a really good show! I am surprised how much I like it.

Man, Molly Ringwald looks bad. It was hard for me to watch her.

I absolutely love the casting of all the parents. I'm amazed at how much Jughead and F.P. look alike.

Last night's episode was really strong--loved the 'core four' together. I do think this mob thing will get old though.

Is this appropriate for 12 and 14 DCs?
Anonymous
I don't think it's appropriate for 12 year olds. This season was pretty dark. Season 1, maybe.

But your 14 year old has probably already seen some episodes, whether you know it or not.

I would say it depends on how mature the 12 year old is.

Excited for season 3. Just read it is going to be a lot less dark. More high school and less murder. They are actually going to show the kids going to class, studying, LOL.

Can't wait!

I agree, for me it was disappointing after enjoying season one.

I think that's what you are saying?
