| If it looks healthy, complements skin tone, with no visible black roots, I think it looks fantastic. But the dry, processed hair you often see around here is not very flattering as a rule. |

My husband prefers brunettes.
From what guys have told me or I've overheard, guys usually like blonde hair or REALLY dark hair. It's the mousy brown that they aren't into. I think that's why so many women with light or medium brown hair decided to be bottle blondes. It takes strong facial features to pull off really dark hair, so it's a safer/easier bet for those women to dye their hair lighter than to dye it darker. The really dark hair (while I think just as attractive to men) can drown out facial features. |

13:04 here. I think you also have to have really good skin and skin tone to look beautiful with really dark hair.
I think if you have average facial features, bad skin, wrinkles, blonde hair is more flattering. Dark hair can be strikingly beautiful, but it can also look severe with the wrong facial features (or with bad skin). There have been studies done that suggest people (men and women alike) are more inclined to help blondes. That could have something to do with the association of blonde hair and young children. Who knows. |
| Beyonce wears it so it must be all good. |
| There is nothing more striking than blue eye/dark hair combo. On a purely superficial level, I have always found dark haired women to be strong and confident. There is nothing hotter than a dark haired, mysterious woman. |
| I have very light skin, blue eyes, and very dark hair and I feel like it suits me perfectly. With light skin and blue eyes you'd think it'd make more sense for me to be blonde, but I'm pretty sure I'd look awful with dyed hair. (to be fair, my brows and lashes are dark so maybe that's why I can't picture myself as a blonde). |
| I think it's blue eyes that are attracting in both sexes. |

Brown hair and blue eyes here.
I know someone who I thought was a natural blonde with blue eyes, She is gorgeous. Turns out she has brown hair and brown eyes and dyes her hair/wears contact lenses to change the color. Not to be rude as she is a lovely woman but she looks MUCH older and less striking in her natural state (Have seen photos). I think she does it to make herself look younger. In the photos of her in her natural state she looks 38-39, She is 30. As a blonde with blue eyes she looks nearer 33-34. |
| Perhaps it is to most people. I take care of myself, and am somewhat pretty and have decided to go in the opposite direction with my black hair - no highlights or balayage. I am aiming to be "striking" and "dark" like Amal Clooney. |

DH here.
Yes, a blond woman is generally more attractive. |
I think that MOST people who are bottle blondes look ridiculous, white or not. |
| I have mousy brown hair naturally. I dye it a dark shade of blonde. It looks better. If I dyed it a brash or bright blonde, I would probably look weird. |
I also think it is takes much more hair color to bleach dark hair into blond rather than natural dark blond into blond. If you are natural blond, just bleaching it few shades lighter will not cause that much damage to the hair and looks more natural when the roots grow. |

If you have a plain Jane face (see the pic of Gwyneth Paltrow) it definitely helps to be blonde
Someone with striking features like Angelina Jolie still looks pretty, but more ordinary as a blonde
|
I don't think Angelina can look ordinary. That said, she doesn't look as good blonde. Agree on the plain face... blonde hair (when done right) does wonders for a plain face. |
