Annnnnddddd... now there's a petition against putting the HS seats at Kenmore.
I plan on going to the working group meeting on May 15th to share my views against more seats at W-L. Do parents ever get a chance to speak at working group meetings? |
No. SB meetings you can. Work sessions you can attend, and they are livestreamed, but you may not speak. Better to email members, go to office hours, and/or speak at a SB meeting. |
PP here - thanks for explaining. So is there any point in going to work sessions? |
Only if you are going to wear colored shirts |
| Can someone post the new petition. I can't find it |
To keep an eye on their discussions and thinking. Allows you to follow up with board members. |
And what does that petition want to do instead?! |
Build elsewhere of course. |

AEM posted a survey that went out to all the candidates for SB and asked them about a 4th HS. It was an interesting read.
(It's also a VERY interesting read for someone who is a REED voter!) |
If that's your single issue, then we already know who you're voting for. He already promised you to get your endorsements. We know, AEM moderators. |
I found it interesting b/c I learned that McMahon would definitely not get my vote. So, now it's between the other two. |
| I learned that the incumbent can't proofread. |
Why is that now? Previously, I read something that made me think O'Grady can't get my vote (all choice all the way)... Why not McMahon? Who else is left? It can't be Lander again. No. No. No. |

The way I read it:
McMahon is not in favor of Reed as a neighborhood school. She understands the interest, but wants to expand option schools. "It may seem easier to simply establish an option program in a new school, rather than considering an existing neighborhood school location. " O'Grady says she wants to investigate ways that the neighborhood can be guaranteed access to the school. That's v. questionable considering the SB is voting in June to do away with neighborhood preference. It's all "investigate" without any committment. Lander flat out supports Reed as a neighborhood school. That's all he said. |
