Now a rooster...that shit is horrible!

And stupid. S/he can't even spell "hear" (which is half why I asked if they came from Jersey).
I don't mind roosters either. My neighbors have them, and they don't bother me at all.
Earplugs are cheap. I suggest all those bothered by nature invest in some.

Huh? "Jersey" actually has one of the most educated populations in the country (& some of the best public schools). It also has many birds, I'm sure. And, no, I am not from there.

+1

Educate yourself, PP.

Don't be dense. It's not about being stressed, it's about being woken up at the crack of dawn by chirping. We turn out air conditioning on much earlier than I'd like because we can't keep the windows open.

Thankfully, I'm past my really bad insomnia days, but those nights brought me to tears more than once.

I'm PP and I do have insomnia. And guess what, it wasn't the bird sounds that woke me...it was my anxiety and stress.

Maybe flip your thinking around. If I wake up at 4 am and hear birds, I think "Oh how wonderful the beautiful sounds of Nature. The birds aren't troubled by my petty human problems, they just rejoice in the morning sun and live in the moment."

I'm talking about still being awake when the birds get started, and then being stuck awake for 2 days in a row.

I'm very sorry you have had such a hard time. I know it's horrible. Maybe see a Dr. I found out I have restless leg syndrome so now I take medication. Have you tried Nightime Tea?

Buckshot is for deer (or people). You need BIRDSHOT, like #9 pellet size (1/16"). Really small stuff that fans out into a cloud of shot. Better chance of hitting something small with several hundred #9 shot than 9 big pellets of buckshot.

.......the more you know!

I am right there with you - every night I put earplugs in at that time. The only problem is that the 5:30 chirpers wake up my kiddo.
