Good questions, OP...

Well, OP?

+1. This is how I am and this is how my sisters are. I'm the big sister so I usually pick up the tab for everything when we travel and I do it happily. I'm 5 and 10 years ahead of where they are at in their lives (professionally, financially, etc.), and maybe it's a cultural thing (we're Persian), but this is how I've always seen it work in every other Persian family we know as well. I'd never dream of asking them to pay even a cent.

^ that's generous PP, but I'd rather be your equal.

1/2, unless she's in a far, far better financial situation than you. The 16 year old doesn't have a salary, so it's 2 adults paying.

I don't think anybody is suggesting that the 16 year old pay for herself. But that the parent of the 16 year old pay for accommodations used by their kid.

Pay half, consider it a gift to your niece. Don't be so cheap over $150....enjoy time with family. You what waste that on dinner out or cable each month.

If there were two queen beds, then 1/3. Really each adult should have had a queen bed and teen on the sofa. If they shared a bed, 1/2.

I'd just ask how much I owed. Short text, hey Larla, how much do I owe you for the hotel? From there you can decide how future vacations go, if any.
