This is how I am and this is how my sisters are. I'm the big sister so I usually pick up the tab for everything when we travel and I do it happily. I'm 5 and 10 years ahead of where they are at in their lives (professionally, financially, etc.), and maybe it's a cultural thing (we're Persian), but this is how I've always seen it work in every other Persian family we know as well.
