No, the quotes about having another baby are from last year when they announced the pregnancy. |
| I know two people who gave birth early to 1 pound babies (1.1 and 1.3). I do not know how many weeks or months old they were but younger than 30 weeks. Both spent 6 months in NICUs. Both survived and have HUGE medical issues today (one pulmonary and respiratory the other has a growth hormone problem, she's super small for her age, height and weight). But are on schedule school wise, so no learning issues, etc. |
+1 A 1 pound baby, however many weeks early, is touch and go and has a long road ahead. The poor family. |
| I think some celebs lie or spin the truth for whatever reason. |
What? You are not one month on the date of your birth. People are so dumb. The earliest preemies survive is 23 weeks. Maybe 22 and 5 or 6 days. No ethical medical professional is providing anything other than comfort care to a baby born before that. And it is important for journalists/the media to get this stuff correct. And as a mother of a preemie, I am tired of hearing about the friend of a cousin of a coworker who had a baby born 6 months early named orangejello after what she ate for lunch and the baby being fine. |
| I'm guessing baby is a 22 weeker, so about 18 weeks early or 4.5 months. They probably just rounded up in math. As a mother of a 25 weeker, I'm sure they are in complete shock and fear right now, not caring if they gave the exactly correct number of months early. |
| I'm thinking they just flubbed the months. But a one lb baby is an extreme micro preemie and fighting like hell to survive minute to minute. |
Lol a baby born on Jan 2 is two months old on Feb 1? Lol |
No it does not. |
The 5-months early line comes from one social media post from the father, a pro athlete. There's no conspiracy of doctors or fame whores claiming this child is "earliest baby ever!!!" Or anything. Dude made a mistake when making the announcement that his wife had given birth to their child. Maybe he meant that his wife was 5 months pregnant at the time. Maybe he sucks at math. Bottom line, baby was born, and she weighs a pound. Since he had announced they were expecting, I'm sure fans were asking how his wife's pregnancy was going. He had to let people know that the baby was born, and that the outcome may not be good. |
| I'm guessing the MOM was 5 months pregnant, and the wording got confused or was phrased badly to read that the baby was 5 months early. |
| I worked as a summer nanny for a young child born at 21 weeks, 3 days. He is blind/deaf (though with hearing aids and glasses he has a little bit of both senses) and likely severe learning disabilities. He requires an intense amount of care and intervention to keep him safe and to keep him engaged with the rest of the world. But he is sweet and happy and the joy of his parents' world. |
| They clearly rounded or exaggerated. I wish them the best. |
Huh? I thought 22 weeks was the earliest reported |
